Kings Snag Forte

Kings Get: QB Cutler, HB Forte, WR Edwards

P.Cobras Get: QB Rivers, HB M.Barber, HB Moreno, HB Wells, WR Walter

This would've been a good trade for the P.Cobras if they didn't include Edwards, it's no secret this team is hurting at widereceiver and giving up their biggest stud and leaving 30 year old LT to carry the team was not a good idea. While they are still a top 5 team before this trade they were top 3 gunning for the MegaBowl.

As for the Kings this is a good not great trade they have a better starting line up now and the addition of another stud halfback is always good but they now have no depth at all so if an injury strikes never carried a full load MJD or the 32 year old Moss or a sophomore slump from Forte comes into play this team will fall off its top 2 status down to the playoff border. Barring injuries though this is a team that should be able to get Dylan into his first postseason since 2005 and maybe even to the championship.

Number 7 Rayz

PREDICTION: 3rd in East No Playoffs

Biggest Strength: Widereceiver

Biggest Weakness: Runningback

Top 3 Players: HB Slaton, WR A. Johnson, WR Jennings

Roster Analysis
QB- B+... If Rodgers continues what he started last year this could be one of the best QB situations in the GFFL with a good back up in Cassel. Only problem could be having to throw in December for Rodgers.
HB- C... Slaton is an adequate number one back if he doesn't go the way of the Cadillacs or A-Trains. I'd be a whole lot happier with him as a number 2. The Rayz currently have no number 2 quality backs even though Fred Jackson should be okay splitting with Rhodes during Lynch's suspension. As for Mendenhall, White, and the rest of the bunch HB3's till further notice.
WR- A-... Andre may not have the upside or flash of the other top receivers but he's still pretty good and a very good WR1. Jennings is a great WR2 if Greenbay keeps up their vert game which may be hard to do as the season goes. Antonio Bryant as depth is a pretty good option making this unit good no doubt but it'll have to be great to make up for the mess at halfback.
TE- B+... There will be a lot of balls thrown in Indy like always.

The Rayz took over for Lawson in '08 and drove that team to the brink of the playoffs. In '09 the Rayz have a pretty good roster and with a move or two could be primed to make their first ever playoff appearance. As long as they make a move for a HB2 or one emerges on their team they should be fine, while this is not an elite roster in my eyes it should still be a good team that challenges for a spot in the dance.

Number 8 Ducks

PREDICTION: 2nd in Central No Playoffs

Biggest Strength: Widereceiver

Biggest Weakness: Runningback

Top 3 Players: WR Fitzgerald, HB D. Williams, WR S.Smith

Roster Analysis
QB- C+... Palmer has good not great upside without Housh not to mention his elbow injury that I believe he should've gotten the surgery for. I do like Palmer a bit though if healthy because in Cincy he'll be in a lot of shootouts or come from behind situations. If he does go down the Ducks back up situation is dreadful Jake Delhomme has no business being owned in the GFFL at this time.
HB- D+... This position before trade would have been in the B's but now after DeAngelo there is no one worthy of a starting spot Earnest Graham is not even a viable flex play. The Dylan trade may have stolen the 2009 season from the Ducks. If DeAngelo slumps or goes down the Ducks will be in big big trouble.
WR- A... Fitz and Smith are great and Coles does give a little depth making this one of the top units as long as Warner's healthy to throw to Fitz this is an A.
TE- D+... Could be worse Miller will be average.

The team bio I had written for them pre-trade heralded them as a possible title contender but now I've bumped this team down from 5th to 8th. It would take another huge year from DWILL for this team to get in the playoffs, but with the loss of a strong HB2 and flex not to mention all the depth I will say check back in 2010 the Ducks with DWILL, Fitz, and Smith as keepers and a high draft pick should be title contenders next year.

Number 9 Carolina Heels

PREDICTION: 3rd in Central Division No Playoffs

Biggest Strength: Quarterback

Biggest Weakness: Runningback

Top 3 Players: QB Brady, HB Jacobs, WR Colston

Roster Analysis
QB- A-... Would be an A+ if I could be confident the Brady of '07 would be out there but I think it should take a while for Brady to regain his old form if he ever does. Even though the Patriots seem confident I'm not completely buying it as I believe Brady's mobility will suffer as well as it will take him a while to be confident in that knee so while Brady is still one of the top 3 QB's he's no sure thing to perform like one in my opinion. More of a bust boom pick then people realize. The depth of Edwards and Hasselbeck helps but it won't cushion the blow too much if Brady is less than Brady like.
HB- C-... Jacobs is an okay number one half back but comes with limited upside and huge injury risk. Jamal Lewis and Larry Johnson behind him really makes this position look worse as I don't think either of those players have much to offer. If Jacobs goes down this is a D- position with the lack of quality starters and depth.
WR- C+... Colston is a low end number one receiver who wouldn't be a number one in any other offense besides New Orleans Brees offense but with the emergence of Moore and Pierre Thomas as well as Bush and Shockey still around to steal receptions Colston may suffer this year not to mention like every other C.Heel's stud he's injury prone. Desean Jackson is a low end WR2 would be a lot better as a flex play. Okay depth behind them. Royal has some potential if Marshall gets traded or if Denver buys a time machine and lands Cutler or Elway.
TE- D+... Carlson is average and in a run first offense with new coordinator Gnapp not to mention the passing game should go through new receiver Housh.

The weakness at halfback, a shaky Brady, and a very injury prone roster will be too much to overcome for the Carolina Heels to make a playoff push this year. If Brady is back to normal then this team could be competitive but barring some blockbuster deal you won't see this team in the playoffs anytime soon.

Number 10 Ochocinco

PREDICTION: 4th in Central Division No Playoffs

Biggest Strength: Quarterback

Biggest Weakness: Widereceivers

Top 3 Players: Chris Johnson, Warner, Portis

Roster Analysis
QB- B+... An A if Warner plays like last year and avoids injury which I highly doubt for a 38 year old quarterback but he does have some depth with 3 other QB's on the roster. Maybe not quality depth but depth none the less.
HB- C+... Chris Johnson is a good number 1 but I hate Portis this season almost as much as his coach Jim Zorn does. With little depth with just Felix Jones I couldn't put this unit into the B's.
WR- C-... Ochocinco, VJack, and Crabtree have some upside but are all WR2's or worse if Ochocinco doesn't bounce back in a huge way this is gonna be one of the weakest units in the whole league at any position, but as you can see by Christian's team name he must have plenty of confidence in a bounce back or it could be named in remembrance for what Chad once was.
TE- C... Houston has a high flying offense so there will be a lot of balls thrown so Daniels should be okay.

If Warner goes down like old QB's are prone to do this team will challenge the Average Joes for the worst team in the league. As of now though with their big 3 healthy they should be competitive and if Ocho becomes elite again this team could surprise and Christian better hope so because with the age on this team waiting for 2010 will not be an option with Chris Johnson being the only viable keeper.

Number 11 Mountaineers

PREDICTION: 4th in West Division No playoffs

Biggest Strength: Runningbacks

Biggest Weakness: Widereceivers

Top 3 Players: HB P.Thomas, QB McNabb, TE Gates

Roster Analysis
QB- B... McNabb is a very good QB1 not the best but very good. Eli Manning is not fantasy relevant in my opinion without Plaxico.
HB- C+... No great halfbacks or HB1s but a lot of good and average ones in P.Thomas, D.Ward, Parker, McClain, and Addai all capable of being HB2s.
WR- D-... three good WR3's but no capable 1's or 2's in my opinion although Berrian could have a good year if Favre is coming to town.
TE- A... Gates one of the tops in the game should continue to produce like a receiver even though he's had some injuries in the past. I like Shiancoe as a back up.

Not incredibly weak anywhere but not strong either. They have many average to good players but the lack of a true stud will have this team failing to find the points to compete week in and week out.

Number 12 Average Joes

PREDICTION: 4th in East Division No Playoffs

Biggest Strength: Quarterback

Biggest Weakness: Runningbacks

Top 3 Players: QB Brees, HB R.Brown, WR T.Owens

Roster Analysis
QB - A+...Drew Brees is the top ranked quarterback by almost everyone and after throwing for 5,000 yards he should be. Flacco makes for a fantastic backup fantasy quarterback.
HB - D-... Ronnie Brown is a very strong 2nd runningback, only problem is he is being used as the Average Joe's number one runningback. As a number one runningback he is not a very good option. L.Washington, Maroney, McGahee, and R.Williams are no where close to 2nd runningbacks, none of them receive enough carries to matter. So with one of them having to serve as his HB2 paired with a weak HB1 it should hold him back week in and week out.
WR - D-... Very similar to his runningback situation in the fact that he has a good WR2 that shouldn't be used as a WR1 in Owens and then extremely weak options for his 2nd WR in Holt, Heyward-Bey, Muhammad, Bruce, and Chambers.
TE - C+...Cooley is a pretty good not great option at tight end with little upside but should be top 10 at the position.

This team is unbelievably weak at every core position besides QB and should be picking very early come 2010 in my opinion.

Team by team power ranking posts

12 teams in 12 days...based on my power rankings I am going to write an article about each team starting with the number 12 ranked Average Joes. As NFL training camps are starting to open I thought now would be the perfect time to do these preseason posts.

Rayz looking to move Andre3000 for top 10 runningback

In addition to the U.Gators throwing some names on the trade block the Rayz have thrown one huge name on the block in Andre Johnson rated in the top 3 by every site out there the Rayz want a top 10 runningback in return. The deal doesn't have to include just the runningback and Andre but Slaton is off limits barring some huge trade.

Based on espn's top 10 runningback projections the teams with the ammunition to get a deal done include...
U. Gators - 1. A. Peterson, 10. F.Gore
C.Falcons- 2. M.Turner, 9. Westbrook
Kings- 3. MJD, 8. D.Williams
P.Cobras- 4. Forte, 7. LT
W.Dogs- 5. SJAX
Ochocinco- 6. Chris Johnson
So using espn's top 10, 6 GFFL teams would have the ammo to pull off this deal although trays top 10 runningbacks may differ and he has already said it's a loose top 10 depending on the deal. Bottom line Andre Johnson is very much on the trading block let the offers fly.

Unbeaten Gators accepting trade offers for...

Until July 27th I will be accepting trade offers for the combination of widereceivers Marshall and Santonio Holmes what I want in return is a top 5 widereceiver so send me an offer or text me an offer 473 4542...all trade offers sent to me will be kept quiet and Holmes and Marshall are just the base of an offer. I will hear out other offers not involving a top 5 receiver. (If you ever want to use the blogspot to display your teams needs or trade block let me know)

Unbeaten Gators pull off huge heist...

U.Gators Get: HB McFadden and WR Avery

Rayz Get: HB L.White, HB Mendenhall, HB Charles, WR Mark Clayton

Already a win in my opinion because of McFadden (the 1st runningback selected in the '08 draft) and Avery (1st widereceiver selected in the '08 draft) have an amazing amount of potential, but what makes it more of a win is how the players traded from my team were acquired.

HB L. White acquired via trade with the Mountaineers for WR C. Henry (on waivers 2 days before)
HB Mendenhall acquired on waivers
WR Mark Clayton acquired on waivers a week ago when Mason retired
HB Charles drafted late rounds

LenDale White is an Unbeaten Gator

LenDale White was traded to the U.Gators for WR Chris Henry of the Bengals straight up. LenDale scored 15 touchdowns last year while Chris Henry was on the waiver wire till two days ago. So this is a major steal for the Gators.

In other news we are starting to collect the 5 dollars to pay for the leagues championship trophy

Stealing from the Kings.....

A day after the W.Dogs were afraid to pull the trigger on a trade that would have significantly bettered her team she pulled one off today that was a huge steal in her favor IMO. Her team now stars SJAX, Calvin, Welker and Witten. A team that is in great shape for competing this year barring an injury to SJAX.

The W.Dogs received: WR Calvin Johnson a top 3 receiver with tremendous upside, HB Jonathan Stewart who many thing if healthy will split the load with Deangelo and may even put it more points being the goal line back, and rookie HB Lesean McCoy who sits behind injury prone and aging Westbrook.

The Kings received: HB Deangelo Williams who had an unbelievable season last year that many think he will not come close to touching this year and many have predicted him as the biggest bust candidate in fantasy football this year with the thinking J-Stew will steal a lot of carries this year and the goal line work.

The W.Dogs won this trade by a wide margin IMO and the Kings have considerably weakened their team throughout the offseason from the powerhouse they drafted article to come on this later.

3 Way Deal Falls Apart (Peterson OFFICIALLY UNTOUCHABLE)

After the blockbuster 3 way deal between the W.Dogs, U.Gators, and Ducks fell apart due to the W.Dogs being afraid to pull the trigger on a deal that would've netted her both Adrian Peterson and Steve Smith. So this morning the trade offer was pulled off the table by the U.Gators after 3 days of trade discussion. The Full Trade Details would've remained confidential but due to the W.Dogs and Ducks releasing the facts to a few owners I'm going to post the blockbuster trade that IMO could have improved my team and the Ducks while making the W.Dogs into actual title contenders.
Ducks Receive: HB D. Williams (WD)
W.Dogs Receive: HB A.Peterson (UG), WR S.Smith (D), and TE Olsen (UG)
U.Gators Receive: HB S.Jackson (WD), HB Moreno (D), HB Greene (D), HB Wells (D), TE Witten (WD)

The team with the most to gain from this IMO was the W.Dogs whose indecisiveness cost her a chance at repeating last years success which is gonna be hard to come by with a receiving core of Welker and Cotchery. The Ducks would have had a strong one-two punch at runningback (D-Will&MB3) paired with the games top receiver in Fitzy. As for myself it's hard to determine whether it would have been a win considering my starting line up would have been weakened considerably without fantasies number one player but my bench would have been incredible for a 12 team league.

With this trade falling through I would like to announce Peterson is now untouchable don't bother sending offers cause no matter what the offer Peterson will remain a U.Gator and has no chance of being moved at this time or the future and all trade talks between the U.Gators and W.Dogs/Ducks are non existent at this time.

HUGE 3 Way Deal in the works for Peterson?

All details are confidential between the 3 teams but 2/3's of the teams have already reached agreement so if you're wanting to throw something at the U.Gator's for Peterson you better throw the package out there now because this deal could be completed before the nights conclusion.

Rayz-Mountaineers come to an agreement

Rayz Get: WR Jennings and HB McFadden

Mountaineers Get: HB P.Thomas, HB D.Ward, and WR Evans

The Rayz win this deal and it's not close in my opinion receiving a top 10 receiver for a RB2, a flex play, and a WR2 at best in Evans. Also getting McFadden who could always cash in on his potential was a nice add in. The only thing that could swing this trade in the Mountaineers favor is if P.Thomas plays like a RB1 like he did at the end of last season, D.Ward shines with a chance to start, and Evans with Owens in town faces single coverage and dominates. As it stands right now though Rayz win and better they're chances while the Mountaineers may be a doormat all year.
