It's every owners dream to win the GFFL BOWL few franchises have made it to the GFFL Bowl(10) and only six have won it. Here's a quick run down and description of GFFL Bowl Past.
GFFL BOWL I
U.Gators OVER Phins
Unbeaten Gators won the first ever GFFL Championship over the Dolphins A look back to 2005. The Unbeaten Gators in the first year of the GFFL narrowly missed an undefeated season losing only once to the Dolphins but other than that ran through the league on the way to becoming the first champion.
GFFL BOWL II
U.Gators OVER Rockets
Unbeaten Gators won 2nd GFFL Championship over Rockets... Look back to 2006 The Gators 12-3 were well on their way to a Unbeaten Gator-Gator show down but the Rockets upset them in the divisional round on their way to being destroyed in the championship game to the Unbeaten Gators. The Unbeaten Gators become the first team to repeat in the GFFL.
GFFL BOWL III
C.Falcons OVER U.Gators
Carolina Falcons won the 3rd GFFL Championship over the Unbeaten Gators. Look Back to 2007 The Unbeaten Gators posted a 12-1-1 record and were on their way to 3 peating over the 7-7 C.Falcons but instead were shocked as even though they topped 100 points they were upset as the Carolina Falcons claimed their franchises first championship.
GFFL BOWL IV
C.Falcons OVER Ducks
The Carolina Falcons won the 4th GFFL Championship over the surprising Ducks. Look Back to 2008 The 1st year in GFFL history the Unbeaten Gators failed to make the championship game losing in the divisional round to the Carolina Falcons and giving way to a new dynasty as the league watched the Carolina Falcons go on to be the 2nd team in GFFL history to repeat as champions.
GFFL BOWL V
W.Dogz OVER Rayz
A match up no one saw coming with the ultimate cinderella story taking the fifth GFFL Bowl Championship. The Weiner Dogz overcame three goliaths the perenial favorite U.Gators, the strong 2 seeded Ducks, and finally the one seeded Rayz in what can only be described as destiny. The out of nowhere DWILL injury in week 15 fueled this unlikely champion as she rode the back of JSTEW through the playoffs and became the GFFL's all time cinderella story.
GFFL BOWL VI
Kings OVER Carolina Falcons
The Carolina Falcons made their 3rd appearance in the big game tieing the U.Gators' record but this one was all about the Kings. Dylan Gibson basically willed this team to a title scouring the waiver wire exploiting the match ups and dominating a championship game without a real star player. A team that went four years without making the playoffs finally put it all together in a magical run to hoist the GFFL trophy and finally take their place as an elite franchise.
GFFL BOWL VII
Classics OVER Kings
The Classics coming off a disappointing 3-11 season in 2010, re-emerged in a big way in 2011. They finished 9-5 on their way to a 3 seed and a GFFL Bowl match up with the defending champion Kings. While a very hyped match up, the game was nothing short of a blow out as the Classics ended the Kings' repeat bid and grabbed their franchise's 1st GFFL Bowl Win.
GFFL BOWL VIII
Pirates OVER Rayz
Michael Vogler defied all the odds and took his team to a place no one thought it would go, GFFL Bowl VIII. He was matched up with Taylor Ray in a good vs evil bowl, that saw evil win out. The Pirates went from nice new expansion team in 2010 to GFFL Bowl Champions in 2012.
GFFL BOWL IX
Pirates OVER Copperheads
If the Vogler-Tray game was good vs evil then this was the Evil Empire vs the Jedi's insert Star Wars reference. The Copperheads finally broke through getting their first ever playoff win and looked poised to have a magical run of their own until they ran into the Pirates. There was just nothing the Copperheads could do to stop the Pirates from #repeating.
GFFL Bowl X
Classics OVER Pirates
The year defined by the #3peat quest ended with the best GFFL Bowl and maybe best fantasy game of all time. I can still see Antonio Brown running for the end zone stealing Vogler's 3rd consecutive GFFL Bowl Championship in the last minute of the season. The Classics won their 2nd GFFL Bowl in franchise history and put themselves up there with the all time great franchises while Vogler ended up with GFFL Bowl X being his last game ever due to some unfortunate circumstances.
