In what was a game for the ages, the defending champion Kings punched their ticket to GFFL BOWL VII! Roddy White was three yards away from advancing the Rayz but was pulled for the final 5 play stretch of the game to the delight of Dylan Gibson. The Kings join the C.Falcons and U.Gators as one of the only three teams to ever make back to back GFFL Bowls (they both won the title). The Kings have overcome injuries to star players (McFadden,FJAX,Andre) and having to go through the wildcard round to get here and now face their arch rival Classics in one of the most hyped GFFL Bowls of all time. Regardless the outcome of the Bowl, the Kings have come a long way from being the team that couldn't make the playoffs, and with a GFFL Bowl victory they would be tied for the most titles of all time. What a night for this franchise! Can they repeat? We'll find out. Congratulations Kings on making it to back to back GFFL BOWLS!

Classics Punch Ticket To GFFL BOWL VII
CONGRATULATIONS to Christian Martin and the Classics. GFFL Bowl Bound in their fourth season, the Classics entered the league in 2008 and have been one of the best and most active owners in the entire GFFL. They had made the playoffs in previous seasons but never had been able to make it all the way. Well 2011 is a different story the Classics are going to GFFL BOWL VII after overcoming the early season Foster injuries and CJ2k's crap season Christian has formed a power house of a team and led them to the promised land. The Classics have a very good shot at capping this season off with a title. Once again congratulations to a great owner and a great friend after defeating the 6. Ducks and the 2. C.Falcons THE CLASSICS ARE HEADED TO GFFL BOWL VII!!!

DIVISIONAL ROUND PREVIEW
Half of Rodgers?
4. Kings (10-4) AT 1. Rayz (12-2)
QB E.Manning QB Rodgers
HB CJ Spiller HB McCoy
HB C.Johnson HB R.Rice
HB/WR Bell HB/WR Mathews
WR Welker WR Wallace
WR AJ Green WR R.White
TE Gates TE V.Davis
This is gonna be a good one. If the Kings were fully healthy with McFadden, FJAX, and Andre they may be favored in this one, but with the team being held together by the Khalil Bell form of scotch tape they don't have the same bite. What is going right for them is that they still have a pair of explosive runningbacks that can hang with the Rayz' star duo any given Sunday. Also in the Kings' favor is the Aaron Rodgers conundrum. If Rodgers gets in there and only plays for a quarter, Eli Manning could outscore him. The Kings have the advantage at tight end. In the Rayz favor is everything else, they have a stacked team and Wallace has a great match up against the Rams. While I think the Kings if Spiller and the old CJ2k show up have a chance the Rayz have to be favored and should be able to walk away with this one. (EDITOR'S NOTE After watching Roethlisberger last night I think Pitt will focus on the run against St. Louis which makes Wallace a little less attractive. I still take the Rayz but the Kings have some hope) Rayz 109-97
3. Classics (9-5) AT 2. C.Falcons (10-4)
QB Brady QB Roethlisberger
HB Foster HB Lynch
HB Jones-Drew HB Turner
HB/WR S.Jackson HB/WR J.Jones
WR Fitzgerald WR Nelson
WR Harvin WR Marshall
TE Hernandez TE Witten
The Classics took care of business against the Ducks and looked like a champion doing it. They now face an easier challenge going up against the C.Falcons whose star player (Lynch) is going up against the best run d in the league while outside of SJAX the Classics have sick match ups. This game has the chance to turn into a laugher, I'll take the Classics 111-75

WILDCARD ROUND PREVIEW
Can Cam Newton lead the Ducks to a shocking upset?
6. Ducks (6-7-1) AT 3. Classics (9-5)
QB Newton QB Brady
HB Peterson HB Foster
HB McGahee HB Jones-Drew
HB/WR M.Barber HB/WR S.Jackson
WR Cruz WR Fitzgerald
WR D.Thomas WR Harvin
TE Gronkowski TE Hernandez
I honestly think this is going to be a very close game as long as Peterson is back, and he should be. Peterson back means less production for Harvin and SJAX is going against a tough Cincy D that just got done holding Foster to 5 fantasy points. MJD is going against an Atlanta team that will be ahead early and should limit his scoring potential while Newton can easily score with Brady or even more than Brady. It's a very scary match up for the Classics who probably wish the Pirates were down at the 6 seed or really anybody but these Ducks. This is the most talented 6 seed there's ever been with four gamebreaker players (Newton,Peterson,Cruz, and Gronk). The Classics do have Foster against Carolina though so I'll take the Classics in a tight one something like 102-100
5. Pirates (9-5) AT 4. Kings (10-4)
QB Romo QB E.Manning
HB Greene HB C.Johnson
HB Tomlinson HB Spiller
HB/WR Meachem HB/WR Jacobs
WR D.Bryant WR Welker
WR Maclin WR AJ Green
TE Gonzalez TE Gates
If the Kings were healthy this game would scream blow out, and even though they aren't it probably still will be. It's a lucky match up for both teams as the Kings get to go against a squad that talent wise shouldn't even be here (especially without Murray) and the Pirates get to go against a Kings team decimated by injuries (FJAX,McFadden,A.Johnson). If the Kings were healthy they'd honestly be my pick to win it all easily but without those players they are a pretty good but far from great team. It's not out of the realm of possibility for the Kings to be beaten if CJ puts up a stinker like he's prone to do and the Ravens hold Gates in check then the teams match up a lot closer but I think I'll trust Chris Johnson against a crappy Indy team the second time around. I'll take Kings in a closer than expected but still a significant win something like 93-75

Sad Day For Gator Nation
Well it's the offseason a lot earlier than normal for the Gators. A storied franchise featuring two GFFL Titles, three GFFL Championship appearances, and 6 consecutive playoff appearances now will be remembered for something completely different, the biggest collapse in GFFL history.
Rewind to the start of the season the Gators coming off a 12-2 season with a roster even better than the previous season were dreaming of chasing perfection.
QB Rodgers
HB Peterson
HB Charles
HB/WR Mendenhall
WR C.Johnson
WR A.Johnson
TE Graham
A star studded roster that kicked off the season with a 127 point showing faced the Rayz in week 2 losing 116-115 because Jamaal Charles tore his ACL early in the 1st quarter. The first blow to a dream season, but not the dagger as the Gators went on to not score less than 115 in any of their first 5 games. When they ran into the Classics and they underperformed losing 77-71, that's when the Gators pulled the trigger and decided to blow the team up. They won two easy games to pull to 6-2 it looked like the Gators would easily get back into the playoffs for a 7th consecutive season..that's when the collapse started.
VS C.Falcons L
VS Panthers L
VS Rayz L
Then right before trade deadline they traded the severely underperfoming Shonn Greene for a 2014 2nd to the Pirates.
VS Kings L
VS Pirates L
VS Pirates L
Shonn Greene scored 75 points in 12 weeks an average of 6.25 points per game then in 2 weeks against the Gators scores 51 points. In week 14 Dez Bryant catches only 1 pass..but it's for a 50 yard touchdown late in the 4th.
It was just not meant to be for the Gators this year as a dream season went up in smoke. This once proud franchise must now start on a rebuilding process and look even farther away frome ending their GFFL BOWL drought.

C.Falcons Suffer Major Blow
The C.Falcons have ridden their strong runningbacks to a 9-4 record but now Matt Forte is done for at least week 14 and the wildcard round but most likely the rest of the fantasy season. This is obviously a huge blow to a team with championship aspirations. Here's what the C.Falcons' roster looks like without Forte..
QB Roethlisberger
HB Turner
HB Lynch
HB/WR J.Jones
WR Nelson
WR Marshall
TE Witten
While this isn't a bad team it's a lot of hit and miss and the argument could be made it will be the weakest line up in the playoff pool other than the Pirates of course.
It's going to be hard for the C.Falcons to make a title run with this team especially if they have to go through the wildcard round first.

OBSERVATIONS:
- The Rayz and C.Falcons are most likely you're 1 and 2 seeds with 1st round byes barring something bizzare.
- Leaves the Classics as the obvious 3 seed as the Central winner.
- Leaves Kings as obvious 4 seed.
- Pirates need one win to clinch OR a Panthers loss, the Panthers loss looks more likely but either way they're probably punching a playoff ticket.
- Gators need one win AND Panthers loss to clinch OR two Panther losses, a Ducks loss, and Deacons loss, so it looks like I'll get in.
- If Gators were to fall flat on their face and blow two to the Pirates and go 6-8, the Panthers would need just one win to get in but if they lose two to the Rayz which is likely then it would open it up for the Ducks and Deacons if either of them could sweep their opponent they could punch a ticket.
- Most likely this is your playoff picture 1. Rayz 12-2 2. C.Falcons 11-3 3. Classics 10-4 4. Kings 10-4 5. Gators 8-6 6. Pirates 7-7 but you never know anything could happen this time of year.

Kings Get: HB C.Johnson, WR AJ Green, 7th rounder
Classics Get: HB S.Jackson and WR Fitzgerald
Pretty even trade but I'd definitely take the CJ and Green side due to SJAX's tough upcoming schedule and Fitz's lack of a QB. In fairness though Green has some injury issues and a hard schedule while CJ is not THE CJ anymore.

THOUGHTS
- Rayz and C.Falcons will be your 1 and 2 seeds. I think the Classics will lose to the Rayz next week and the C.Falcons will run the table of their easy schedule resulting in the Rayz and C.Falcons having bye weeks.
- The Panthers are essentially done. Two games against the Rayz should result in two losses and they don't have the tiebreaker over the Pirates or Gators but if they can beat the Ducks and split with the Rayz 7-7 would probably punch a ticket.
- The Ducks (4-6-1) are arguably in the best position to make the playoffs. If they beat the Panthers this weekend to get to 5-6-1 and the Pirates fall to 6-6 I think the Ducks are basically in. They would only have to split the series with the Cobras and have the Pirates lose both games to the Gators to punch a ticket to the dance.
- It looks like it's a given we will have a Gators-Kings wildcard match up with the winner of this weekend's game having homefield advantage.
- The Ducks or Panthers would be the most dangerous of the potential 6 seeds.

Rayz 8-1; VS Pirates(5-4),VS Gators (6-3), VS Classics (6-3), VS Panthers (4-5), VS Panthers (4-5) - This is a guaranteed playoff team but it all comes down to the Gators game with a win they easily take the East if they lose they would most likely have a 1 game lead with 3 tough games to play going against the Classics and a rejuvinated Panther team. 100% Chance of Making Playoffs and while they should be the favorites for the division it is far from a lock.
2. C.Falcons 7-2; VS Classics (6-3), VS Kings (6-3), VS W.Dogz (2-7), VS Copperheads (1-8), VS Copperheads (1-8) - Western Division comes down to Week 11 but this team will finish at a minimum of 10-4. PLAYOFF LOCK
3. Classics 6-3; VS C.Falcons (7-2), VS Ducks (2-6-1), VS Rayz (8-1), VS Deacons (2-6-1), VS Deacons (2-6-1) - Most likely Central Division Champ and with games against the C.Falcons and Rayz has a shot at climbing to the #1 seed or at least a bye.
4. Gators 6-3; VS Panthers (4-5), VS Rayz (8-1), VS Kings (6-3), VS Pirates (5-4), VS Pirates (5-4) - Traded off some talent for the future but still pretty good and has the chance to steal the Eastern Division Crown and possibly the #1 seed but at least will be a playoff team.
5. Kings 6-3; VS Deacons (2-6-1), VS C.Falcons (7-2), VS Gators (6-3), VS W.Dogz (2-7), VS W.Dogz (2-7) - If they could have had that win against the Rayz last week they'd be riding high heading for a possible 1 seed but now they're just focused on overtaking the Falcons for the West.
6. Pirates 5-4; VS Rayz(8-1),VS Panthers (4-5), VS Cobras (4-5), VS Gators (6-3), VS Gators (6-3)- A righting of the ship is coming for these Pirates. While they only need to win two of these two most likely get in the dance they couldn't get a much harder schedule. I don't see them making it but I didn't see them being here so who knows.
---------------------------------------------------
7. P.Cobras 4-5; VS W.Dogz(2-7), VS Deacons (2-6-1),VS Pirates(5-4),VS Ducks(2-6-1),VS Ducks(2-6-1) - Team is a little beat up but they are in the best shape of anyone to claim the six seed they just have to take care of business in this stretch.
8. Panthers 4-5; VS Gators(6-3),VS Pirates(5-4),VS Ducks(2-6-1),VS Rayz(8-1),VS Rayz(8-1) - The Panthers have to steal a Gators or Rayz game along with beating the Pirates and Ducks to comfortably get in but they could get in with 6 wins so Pirates and Ducks are must win games.
9. Ducks 2-6-1; VS Copperheads(1-8),VS Classics(6-3),VS Panthers(4-5),VS P.Cobras(4-5),VS P.Cobras(4-5)- New life for the Ducks and a schedule that can be very manageable especially when you have Cam Newton and Adrian Peterson. I wouldn't be shocked to see this team win out or go 4-1 and get in at 7-6-1 or 6-7-1 the final three game stretch will be huge.
10. Deacons 2-6-1; VS Kings (6-3),VS P.Cobras (4-5),VS Copperheads (1-8),VS Classics (6-3), VS Classics (6-3) - They need to go 4-1 or 5-0 on this schedule just like the Ducks above but it is definitely possible. They gave the top Rayz a good scare and could beat the Kings then find a way in.
It wouldn't shock me to see any of these teams in as the six seed. I honestly think the winner may only have 6 wins but the top teams should be rooting for the Panthers, Ducks, and even the Deacons to not make it cause their teams are strong enough to catch fire and walk away with a title if they get in. I know the Pirates aren't that strong and unless Best and Hillis get back soon the P.Cobras probably aren't. All we know for sure is that this is going to be one heck of a race to watch.

WEEK 9 MATCH UPS
The top 4 teams are all playing against each other this week in possible GFFL Bowl Match ups C.Falcons (6-2) VS Gators (6-2); Rayz (7-1) VS Kings (6-2). While the Classics and Purple Cobras face off in a huge divisional match up which if the Cobras were to win they would own the tie breaker over the Classics for the Central Division title; the Panthers (3-5) play a must win against the Weiner Dogz to make sure they stay in the wildcard hunt with a rougher schedule coming up; the Deacons and Ducks also play a huge game with the winner being able to get back into the thick of the playoff hunt. The Pirates hope to stay in the lead for the sixth seed with a match up against a team (Copperheads) that many GFFL analysis had them at the bottom with.
So how is it all going to shake out and how could the playoff picture look afterwards?
Gators (6-2) OVER C.Falcons (6-2) - This will be a close one with the C.Falcons only having an advantage at runningback but it's a big one. I'll take with a slight hint of bias my own team in a close game.
Kings (6-2) OVER Rayz (7-1) - It sucks the Kings won't have McFadden in a heck of a match up against Denver in this one but this will be another extremely close game. Eli Manning plays the terrible NE secondary which for one week will allow him to look like Rodgers. I barely take Kings in a game that could be decided by a point.
Classics (5-3) OVER P.Cobras (4-4) - Yet another close match up as the Classics aren't as good as they look on paper thanks to CJnok. The Purple Cobras are very beat up though and they need Hillis to play more than anything I think the Classics pull it out by 10 or so.
Panthers (3-5) OVER W.Dogz (2-6) - The Panthers should have no problem demolishing the Weiner Dogz to keep their playoff hopes alive while all but turning the lights off for the Dogz' season.
Deacons (2-6) OVER Ducks (2-6) - No Newton + No Peterson = No win. The Deacons will get a much needed playoff boost while it won't be over at least not yet for the Ducks.
Copperheads (1-7) OVER Pirates (4-4) - The Pirates are going to eventually come back down to reality what better game than this to do so. While the Pirates have a phenomenal foundation for the future they aren't a playoff team this year pure and simple.

Someone is going to get in with a losing record. Even if you're a 2-7 team being 2 out with 5 to play is not a very daunting task a trade here or there before at the deadline could punch you in. You've gotta decide if it's worth some future picks for a little instant success. If you think if your team got in you'd truly have a shot at rolling off 3 wins in a row and claiming a title then it definitely is.

Midway Evaluation/Power Rankings
Half way through the season 7 games down with 7 to go we're starting to get a clear picture of who is at the top but the picture for who is gonna make the playoffs is more muddied than in any year I can recall.
1. C.Falcons 6-1 - Fresh off dethroning the previously unbeaten Rayz the Carolina Falcons are no doubt a PLAYOFF LOCK after already having amassed 6 wins. They have 2 games left against the Weiner Dogz and an additional 2 games left against the Copperheads which makes them a LOCK FOR 10+ WINS. They will have a big show down against the Kings in week 11 and if they win that and hold them off for the division crown this could easily be your #1 seed and a team that could get back to the title game for the 2nd consecutive year.
2. Rayz 6-1 - Still a top tier team and arguably the top team in the league but the schedule does get a little rockier with (Kings,Gators,Classics,Revamped Panthers X2 for 5 of their last 7 games). I think they're obviously a PLAYOFF LOCK but they better keep looking over their shoulder cause the Gators are coming just one game back.
3. Classics 4-3 - After a bumpy start they're right where they want to be in control of the Central Division. They shouldn't have too much trouble holding this lead if they take care of business in the divisional game. I won't put them as a lock but I'll say STRONG CHANCE THEY WIN THE CENTRAL AND SNAG 3 SEED.
4. Gators 5-2 - Chomping at the bit to take over the East division, the Gators should be a PLAYOFF LOCK. Even without Peterson the Gators field a strong team that could take over the East and has an outside chance at finishing with the one seed.
5. Kings 5-2 - They should easily be a PLAYOFF LOCK and have a good chance at running down the C.Falcons for the West crown. In all honesty I wouldn't be shocked to see the defending champions holding the 1 seed if McFadden is fine.
6. Pirates 4-3 - I can't believe they're in this spot and I think they'll be falling before long but right now they have a 1 game lead on a playoff race that may take a 7-7 or worse record to win so I guess they're in the thick of things.
7. Purple Cobras 3-4 - Definitely contenders for that 6th and final playoff spot the Best injury hurt him but he is through with the toughest part of his schedule.
8. Panthers 3-4 - This is my pick to overcome and capture the 6 seed; Cobras, Dogz, Pirates, and Ducks are four very winnable games on the schedule that could get them to 7 wins and if they could somehow steal a game from the Gators or Rayz 8 wins would easily punch them in but 7 could do the trick. A team featuring Brees Bradshaw Mendenhall and VJAX is actually pretty good and could be a real wildcard threat with upset potential. MY PICK TO GRAB THE 6 SEED.
9. Ducks 2-5 - Newton and Peterson are a formidable duo and the Gronk isn't a bad tight end. Blowing last weeks game to the Pirates definitely hurts them but they're my DARKHORSE to rise from the ashes and claim the 6 seed. Even if they don't make it this year, a core of Newton, Peterson, and Gronk/Britt(?) will have a chance to make them very competitive for quite a while.
10. Deacons 2-5 - Still in the hunt but they need Hillis to wake up if they want to make their way into the dance. An upset of the Rayz would be a heck of a start.
11. Weiner Dogz 1-6 - NO CHANCE they have a huge game in Week 11 against the Copperheads though to see who has the best lottery odds at the #1 pick in 2012.
12. Copperheads 1-6 - (see Weiner Dogz)

POWER RANKINGS
1. Pirates - oh wait..nevermind
1. C.Falcons - After beating the Rayz I have to stick them up here but I still don't like their roster outside of Forte.
2. Rayz - Still arguably the top roster in the league.
3. Gators - Vick, Megatron, Nicks, Fitz and Graham are beyond studly while they mix and match their runningback slots.
4. Kings - If McFadden is fine and Andre gets back this is a team that could be a very serious repeat contender.
5. Classics - If only Foster could get 40 every week. They're gonna need that other back CJ700maybe to wake up if they want a real shot at a title.
6. Panthers - Team looks sick on paper only one game out. Easily the favorite for the 6 seed.
7. Purple Cobras - Got through a terrible rough patch in their schedule and now we'll find out if there was any truth to that 3-0 start.
8. Pirates - This reminds me of the 2009 Mountaineer team luck that willed Adam to a playoff spot despite being the lowest scoring team in the league. The Pirates aren't quite that bad and the rest of the league hopes they aren't quite that lucky.
9. Ducks - They have a great core for the future and if they beat the Panthers in their match up could find a way in the dance this season.
10. Deacons - Need Hillis to wake up but even if he doesn't the good news is they have their 1st pick for next year and could have really good lottery odds at 1st pick and be able to put a piece around Hillis Finley and Smitty.
11. Weiner Dogz - Consecutive Playoff runs ends this year
12. Copperheads - 2012

Vincent Jackson to the Panthers; Blount to the Rayz
Gators Get: 1st and conditional 2nd (2013)*
Panthers Get: WR V.Jackson
*If VJAX finishes as a top 10 receiver goes up to a 1st
The Panthers certainly gave themselves a boost to crash the postseason party only one game back and now they have a stud QB two stud HB's and a stud WR who knows.
C.Falcons Get: 2nd (2013)
Rayz Get: HB Blount

BLOCKBUSTER DEAL

Gators Get: QB Vick, HB D.Williams, WR Fitzgerald, 2nd, 1st (2013)
Ducks Get: HB Peterson
The Ducks get a huge boost at runningback and look like a solid contender for the Central division now with a Newton-Peterson combo and get rid of Vick who was wasting away on the bench. The Gators build a bit for the future while getting some good pieces and opening themselves up for more trades at the week 12 deadline.

Adrian Peterson Silent Auction
Adrian Peterson is not only on the trade block, he is guaranteed to be moved by 7:07 pm Wednesday in this silent auction. This is a lottery ticket that basically says GFFL BOWL VII championship on it for the right team. If you're the Rayz (6-0) and you make a deal to snag Peterson then you may be guaranteeing yourself the first ever (and maybe only) perfect season in GFFL history (Peterson, McCoy, R.Rice that may be the best team of all time). If you're the C.Falcons (5-1) this may be enough to propel you to your 3rd GFFL title (Peterson, Forte, Turner). If you're the Kings (4-2) Peterson teamed with McFadden and FJAX would have them thinking repeat. If you're the Classics CJ2k Foster and Peterson you guarantee a division title and can start thinking about your first title.
If you're one of the fringe playoff teams (Ducks, Panthers, Deacons, Pirates, Cobras) Peterson is enough to punch a playoff ticket and get you dreaming about an upset.
If you're one of the up and coming teams or rebuilding teams Peterson could be a star to build your team around.
Of course it's gonna cost you a lot to acquire Adrian Peterson (think Herschel Walker type deal) but a back of this caliber is rarely available for trade especially during the season. Your franchises fortunes could be changed in an instant with one simple trade.

POWER RANKINGS WEEK 6
1. Rayz 5-0 (103.18) PRVS. #1 UPCOMING GAME: VS #4 Purple Cobras - The juggernaut keeps rolling yet to score under 116 this year and are on pace for 1,761 points to destroy the season record for scoring (1,458, 2010 U.Gators)
2. Gators 4-1 (93.12) PRVS. #2 UPCOMING GAME: VS #7 Classics - Survived a game with the Cobras to remain in stride with the Rayz. Got to keep a week to week focus.
3. C.Falcons 4-1 (76.48) PRVS. #4 UPCOMING GAME: VS #6 Deacons - May not be as good as their record but in the West their record will continue to be inflated and this will lead to a playoff spot.
4. P.Cobras 3-2 (74.72) PRVS. #3 UPCOMING GAME: VS #1 Rayz - Played great last week posting 112 points to fall to the Gators only by 5. They'll turn around and play the Rayz this week and if they can knock them off you'll have to start looking at the Cobras as title contenders.
5. Kings 3-2 (71.68) PRVS. #5 UPCOMING GAME: VS #8 Ducks - Answered back after being upset by the Pirates in the previous week.
6. Deacons 2-3 (59.18) PRVS. #10 UPCOMING GAME: VS #3 C.Falcons - Have an opportunity to show they're for real and start creating some distance between them and other wildcard contenders with a game against the overrated C.Falcons.
7. Classics 2-3 (56.22) PRVS. #8 UPCOMING GAME: VS #2 Gators - Blew a gimme game against the Copperheads but lucky for them their division and the 6 seed playoff spot are all just a big log jam so they're right in the thick of things even with the slow start.
8. Ducks 2-3 (55.4) PRVS. #7 UPCOMING GAME: VS #5 Kings - Needs to move one of her stud QB's to help another position but with D-Will coming on they are in the heat of the playoff race and the Kings have shown they can succumb to an upset so this could be a big week for the Ducks.
9. Weiner Dogz 1-4 (52.64) PRVS. #9 UPCOMING GAME: VS #10 Pirates - This is my sleeper team to make the playoffs. They actually have scored a lot of points they have Austin coming back and they play in the weak West and after this week if the stars align they could be tied for the 6 seed.
10. Pirates 2-3 (51.28) PRVS. #6 UPCOMING GAME: VS #9 W.Dogz - An overachieving team that is a year away from being a serious competitor.
11. Panthers 1-4 (47.94) PRVS. #11 UPCOMING GAME: VS #12 Copperheads - As bad as they've started they could still potentially be tied for the 6th seed after this week if they take care of the Copperheads.
12. Copperheads 1-4 (44.42) PRVS. #12 UPCOMING GAME: VS #11 Panthers - After they're big upset win they play a very vulnerable Panthers team hard to believe (and yes there is a theme here) that the Copperheads after starting 0-4 could be tied for the 6th seed going into week 7, wow that's the GFFL this year.

1/3 of the Way Through
1/3 of the way through the GFFL season it's time to take a team by team look at who is a contender and pretender and what the current playoff picture is and what it will be.
1. Rayz 5-0 - A solid lock to make the playoffs this team is the current favorite to walk away with the GFFL BOWL VII Championship. They still have a battle on their hands for the Eastern Division but they could easily be 10-0 heading into their match up with the Gators. LOCK THEM IN FOR A PLAYOFF SPOT AND EITHER AN EAST DIVISION TITLE OR 4 SEED WILDCARD.
2. C.Falcons 4-1 - Despite the 4-1 record I think this team is nowhere near an elite level. Lucky for them they play 4 more combined games against the Weiner Dogz and Copperheads which should be enough for this perrenial playoff contender to punch another ticket to the dance. Can they win the West though? I don't know but LOCK THEM IN FOR A PLAYOFF SPOT.
3. Purple Cobras 3-2 - The fast start has fizzled slightly and they have the Rayz and Kings up next on the docket. They play in a semi weak Central division where anyone could walk away with the title so if they take care of those games they could easily be dancing in December. They're far from a lock for the playoffs but they hold a one game advantage in the Central so they have a little bit better of a chance than their division counterparts. PLAYOFF CONTENDER BUT FAR FROM A LOCK TO BE THERE.
4. Gators 4-1 - A Jamaal Charles ACL tear away from leading the Eastern Division, they are the 2nd favorite to winning GFFL BOWL VII behind only their division rival the Rayz. LOCK FOR THE PLAYOFFS AND EITHER EAST DIVISION CHAMPION OR 4 SEED WILDCARD.
5. Kings 3-2 - The defending champions are pretty good again this year featuring a strong half back duo of McFadden and FJAX. Playing in the unbelievably weak West with a C.Falcons team being it's only competitor they are a LOCK TO WIN THE WEST AND CLAIM THE 2 SEED.
6. Classics 2-3 - A very up and down team but there is no doubting they are talented with Brady and Foster. I think this team will find a way to make the playoffs but it is obviously far from a lock. PLAYOFF CONTENDER VERY TALENTED IF THEY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS DEFINITE CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER.
7. Ducks 2-3 - Another team from the bunched up Central that has some talent. Needs to deal Vick for another halfback or receiver but a LEGITIMATE CENTRAL AND PLAYOFF CONTENDER.
8. Deacons 2-3 - The Deacons reside in where else of course the Central Division. Led by a rejuvinated Steve Smith this actually a very complete team if Peyton Hillis can rebound somewhat. Garcon is exploding and they have AS GOOD A CHANCE AS ANY TO WIN THE CENTRAL OR SNAG A WILDCARD.
9. Pirates 2-3 - I say this all the time but if they didn't play in the East they could be a really big time contender. They are however still tied for the wildcard spot and they've surprised me so far so who knows but I'll say NOT A PLAYOFF CONTENDER.
10. Panthers 1-4 - They are actually pretty talented but a 1-4 start is tough to overcome and I think the best they could go is 7-7 and that would be barely good enough to sneak in. That would take a 6-3 record the rest of the way with three games against the Rayz and Gators. Even though they are only one game out with a talented team right now I have to say NOT A PLAYOFF CONTENDER.
11. Weiner Dogz 1-4 - Have left an inactive player in their line up in 2 weeks this season which is just pathetic. The Weiner Dogz have never missed the playoffs and they do have a lot of magic and they play in the weak West and have gotten 2 of their hardest games out of the way (Gators, Rayz) that it is possible. If they would have beat the Ducks and were sitting at 2-3 I'd be all over this team as a sleeper pick to make it in but at 1-4 I say NOT A PLAYOFF CONTENDER.
12. Copperheads 1-4 - An unbelievable upset win shows they can compete and possibly beat some more teams this year but they are obviously going nowhere. 2012 is the motto of this team and therefore NOT A PLAYOFF CONTENDER AND SHOULD HOLD THE NUMBER 1 PICK IN THE 2012 DRAFT.

Classics Snag Hernandez; Copperheads Building Dynasty?
Copperheads Get: 2013 3rd
Classics Get: TE Hernandez
This is good value on both sides and Hernandez could be a difference maker at tight end for the Classics when he's healthy. As for the Copperheads they are building something big.
2012 - (4) 1sts, (4) 2nds, (2) 3rds, (2) 4ths, (2) 5ths
2013 - Full Draft and (3) 3rds
If I were the Copperheads I'd move Gore, Greene, and Lynch for picks maybe move 1 1st in the offseason for a proven stud to go along with Charles and get ready to become a powerhouse. The most important day for the Copperheads' franchise is 2012 draft day if they can have a dominant draft at those spots it can turn into a long run of dominance in the GFFL.

Hightower Auction Over He's A Duck

The Ducks made two pretty big moves to jolt their playoff chances, claiming HB Ryan Grant and sending a 2nd rounder for HB Tim Hightower. When Grant gets back her line up will look like this:
QB Mike Vick
HB DeAngelo Williams
HB Tim Hightower
HB/WR Ryan Grant
WR Larry Fitzgerald
WR Eric Decker
TE Rob Gronkowski
Not too bad if DeAngelo and Vick can get it going this is a team that could punch a playoff ticket again.
Ducks Get: HB Tim Hightower

BLOCKBUSTER DEAL
Ochocinco On The Move Again
Pirates Get: WR Ochocinco, 6th, 1st (Kings)
Rayz Get: 1st(Pirates),3rd(Pirates)
This is a deperation attempt by the Pirates to be competitive this year and a nice move by the Rayz to improve their draft position considerably for a player they'll never use.
If Ocho can adjust to New England it could be a big move for the Pirates but I don't know if that's ever going to happen.

POWER RANKINGS WEEK 4
1. Rayz 3-0 PRVS. #1 UPCOMING GAME: VS #12 Copperheads - Scoring a ton of points every week and roll out another cupcake match up coming to town in the Copperheads they should be occupying this spot for a while. 3 down 11 to go.
2. U.Gators 2-1 PRVS. #2 UPCOMING GAME: VS #11 W.Dogz - Big win over the Deacons leaves no doubt this team is in the top 2 and championship caliber.
3. Kings 2-1 PRVS. #4 UPCOMING GAME: VS #10 Pirates - Fred Jackson looks legit and the Kings look legit even with Grossman at the helm they are no doubt the 3rd best team in the league.
4. Purple Cobras 3-0 PRVS. #6 UPCOMING GAME: VS #5 C.Falcons - If they can beat the C.Falcons to improve to 4-0..start printing up the playoff t-shirts.
5. Carolina Falcons 2-1 PRVS.#3 UPCOMING GAME: VS #4 Purple Cobras - A perrenial contender looks like they'll be strong enough to make yet another playoff run.
6. Classics 1-2 PRVS. #5 UPCOMING GAME: VS #8 Panthers - It's not time to hit the panic button quite yet but a loss to the Panthers to fall to 1-3 would do it
7. Deacons 1-2 PRVS. #7 UPCOMING GAME: VS #9 Ducks - If they can win this week will really start looking like they're in the wildcard hunt. Good team when Smith shows up.
8. Panthers 1-2 PRVS.#8 UPCOMING GAME: VS #6 Classics - Survived a must win against the C.Falcons and now head into an even bigger game. Loser of the Classics/Panthers game could be out of the playoff race a lot sooner than anyone anticipated. Even without Peyton he is still managing to field a pretty good team.
9. Ducks 1-2 PRVS.#9 UPCOMING GAME: VS #7 Deacons - They were one point away from being done for the season with their 69-68 win over the W.Dogz. With Kenny Britt out for the year and Vick and DeAngelo struggling it's going to be a tough road to find a way into the playoffs.
10. Pirates 1-2 PRVS. #10 UPCOMING GAME: VS #3 Kings - Came back down to earth with a loss to the Rayz but they are seriously a lot more competitve than they have been in the past. If they didn't play in the East they might have a shot at the playoffs but for now they'll just have to play the upset role. The Kings come to town this week and if the Pirates can surprise and beat them a rivalry may form.
11. Weiner Dogz 1-2 PRVS. #11 UPCOMING GAME: VS #2 U.Gators - Pathetic. Didn't set the starting line up and left an injured Austin on her team resulting in a one point loss in a game that could have possibly gotten them in position to start stealing a playoff spot for yet another season at 2-1.
12. Copperheads 0-3 PRVS. #12 UPCOMING GAME: VS #1 Rayz - It's gonna be tough coming up with a win this year but they can continue to take solace in the fact 2012 will be a different ball game.

Now with the Pirates huge shocking win over the Panthers they avoid making history for the wrong reasons. Congratulations Vogler.

POWER RANKINGS WEEK 3
1. Rayz 2-0 Prvs. #2 Upcoming Game: VS #10 Pirates - After narrowly defeating the Gators last week there is nowhere to put this team but #1. With the way their schedule shapes out they should very realistically be 10-0 when they head into week 11 against the Gators.
2. U.Gators 1-1 Prvs. #1 Upcoming Game: AT #7 Demon Deacons - Can't knock my team too far down after scoring 115 in a loss to the Rayz. Should be able to survive the loss of Charles with VJAX and Tate. Have to get back to work and shake off the Rayz' loss.
3. C.Falcons 2-0 Prvs. #8 Upcoming Game: VS #8 Panthers - They've made it to 2-0, I still don't like their team and don't think their legit contenders but there's no arguing with the results right now.
4. Kings 1-1 Prvs. #4 Upcoming Game: AT #12 Copperheads - Made a nice trade to upgrade his receiving core and demolished his rival..pretty good week. Time will tell if he can survive with waiver wire fodder at QB but he is definitely a top team.
5. Classics 1-1 Prvs. #3 Upcoming Game: AT #6 P.Cobras - Quick who's scored the 2nd fewest amount of points in the first two weeks of the season? Yep, it's the Classics ahead of only the Copperheads. I'm starting to get really worried about this team Foster's hamstring may be a lingering issue all season leaving him with Thomas Jones as his HB2. Chris Johnson is not looking like himself, the receiving core is off to a slow start. Outside of Brady no one has been coming to play on the Classics. They need to right the ship this week or they'll launch a division opponent to 3-0 as they themselves fall to 1-2. Then just throwing it out there the a good Panthers team come for a visit the following week. This Cobra game is an early must win.
6. Purple Cobras 2-0 Prvs. #9 Upcoming Game: VS #5 Classics - The Purple Cobras are looking for real and if they beat the Classics to advance to 3-0 a Central Division title will start looking like a real possibility.
7. Demon Deacons 1-1 Prvs. #6 Upcoming Game: VS #2 U.Gators - Lost a close one to the Purple Cobras this week, but this team is a definite playoff contender. I don't know if they're ready to hang with the elite teams in the league yet though.
8. Panthers 0-2 Prvs. #5 Upcoming Game: AT #3 C.Falcons - They need to win this week they have a brutal schedule coming up and really couldn't afford to blow a game to the lowly Pirates.
9. Ducks 0-2 Prvs. #7 Upcoming Game: VS #11 W.Dogz - Should get their first win this week but should definitely entertain the idea of trading Vick to improve their runningback core and rolling with the kid Cam Newton.
10. Pirates 1-1 Prvs. #10 Upcoming Game: AT #1 Rayz - Pulled off a major upset, if they can do the same thing to the Rayz this week they will shoot up this list. I doubt they can but they shocked the world last week.
11. Weiner Dogz 1-1 Prvs. #12 Upcoming Game: AT #9 Ducks - Losing Miles Austin, the guy who started all her luck, may be the final death blow to this once proud franchise as they spiral into mediocrity.
12. Copperheads 0-2 Prvs. #11 Upcoming Game: VS #4 Kings - Their goal this year should just be to avoid 0-14. 2012 will be different but I don't see any hope this year not with his QB and wide receievers.

U.Gators-Rayz Make A Deal
Chad Ochocinco is a U.Gator
Panthers Acquire New Franchise QB
As long as the Panthers have been in the GFFL they have always had Peyton Manning as their QB1, enter Drew Brees. Mike Gibson never makes trades but before 2011 Manning never missed games. The Kings acquired a top 5 receiver in one of the most fair deals I've ever seen completed in this league.
Kings Get: WR Nicks, HB F.Jackson, and WR Burress
Panthers Get: QB Brees, WR Jacoby Jones, D Patriots

WEEK 2 POWER RANKINGS
1. Unbeaten Gators 1-0 Previous Rank: #1 Upcoming Game: VS #2 Rayz - The U.Gators came in ranked number one overall this season and showed why with a 127 point debut against the Panthers
2. Rayz 1-0 Previous Rank:#2 Upcoming Game: AT #1 U.Gators - Touted as a truly elite team already adding Lesean McCoy has put them in talks with the Gators as the class of the league. Huge early season show down looming in week 2.
3. Classics 1-0 Previous Rank:#3 Upcoming Game: VS #5 Kings - They were able to survive no Foster and a dud from CJ to win a game against their division rival. While they still lack depth and Foster may find himself sharing some carries upon return they are still a top 3 team and would love nothing more to put their archrival Dylan Gibson in an 0-2 hole.
4. Panthers 0-1 Previous Rank:#5 Upcoming Game: VS #10 Pirates - Even without Peyton they were able to get over 100 points and showed they're still playoff contenders. They should get back to .500 this week and are definite wildcard contenders.
5. Kings 0-1 Previous Rank: #4 Upcoming Game: AT #3 Classics - The defending champs loss a close one to the C.Falcons and their glaring hole at receiver was exposed as Bowe and Ochocinco combined for 2 points. Still easily the favorite for the West they need to start getting their roster ready to compete with the elite. They're playing a good Classic team in a game that could have an impact on playoff seeding later on.
6. Demon Deacons 1-0 Previous Rank: #8 Upcoming Game: VS #9 Purple Cobras - In Phil's debut he topped 100 points and his roster proved to be very well built especially with the outburst from Steve Smith. If Smith maintains wide receiver 1 value this could easily be the team that latches on for that sixth playoff spot.
7. Ducks 0-1 Previous Rank: #6 Upcoming Game: AT #8 C.Falcons - The Ducks barely loss against one of the GFFL's stronger teams and could easily contend for a playoff spot. The only problem is their runningbacks are weak and Vick can only make up for so much.
8. Carolina Falcons 1-0 Previous Rank: #10 Upcoming Game: VS #7 Ducks - They got revenge and shocked the Kings, couldn't ask for a better season start. I still don't like their roster though and I'm gonna have to see a little bit more from them before I believe they can truly contend to get back to the playoffs.
9. Purple Cobras 1-0 Previous Rank: #7 Upcoming Game: VS #6 Demon Deacons - They thoroughly beat the Copperheads and I still believe they are a staunch competitor for the playoffs, there wre just too many upsets which have caused them to move down. If they beat the Deacons this Sunday though watch for them to spring up the rankings.
10. Pirates 0-1 Previous Rank: #12 Upcoming Game: VS #4 Panthers - Even though they loss they showed signs of being a competive team. The Romo and Dez combo is a heck of a building block for this team for 2012 when they're definitely picking high and can finally put pieces around them.
11. Copperheads 0-1 Previous Rank: #11 Upcoming Game: AT #12 Weiner Dogz - Gore and Greene didn't show up and made this team look the part of its number 11 ranking. 2012is the year for these guys and if I worked in the Copperhead front office I'd already be trying to wheel and deal Gore and Greene for additional draft picks.
12. Weiner Dogz 0-1 Previous Rank: #9 Upcoming Game: VS #11 Copperheads - The Dogz should definitely compete for worst team in the league. The only upside is they play in the West so they are a King falter away from having a shot at the playoffs in an utra weak division.
