U.Gators Get: QB Rodgers, 1st(Ducks), 4th(Ducks), and 1st '12

GFFL BOWL VI

Do you believe in miracles?! Nope not quite from the Unbeaten Gators who lost to the 5th seeded Carolina Falcons in the divisional round.

So now the next thing to do is say congratulations to the 2. Kings and the 5. Carolina Falcons on making the GFFL BOWL. It's a heck of an accomplishment as only 7 different teams have made it here in six seasons. As for these two teams this is the Carolina Falcons 3rd GFFL BOWL appearance tieing the Unbeaten Gators' record for championship appearances. If they win they'd be the first to win three GFFL BOWL Championships. The Kings are making their 2nd appearance and haven't been here since GFFL BOWL I.

The GFFL BOWL party is next week as well as the draft lottery.

My pick in the title game Carolina Falcons.

Championship Facts

-No team has ever won without coming into the championship game with a top 10 back..The Carolina Falcons boast Charles(4th) and Turner (8th) and the Kings have McFadden(4th) and Jones-Drew(10th)

- The lowest seed to win the title is the 4 seeded 2009 Weiner Dogz.

- 137 points is the highest score of a championship game ever. It was posted by the 2006 U.Gators against the Rockets.

- 2 seeds are 2-1 in GFFL BOWLS the only lost coming from the Kings franchise

- The Carolina Falcons are the first 5 seed to make the GFFL BOWL

- The Carolina Falcons are 2-0 in GFFL BOWLS winning GFFL BOWL III and GFFL BOWL IV

- Wildcard teams are 2-1 in GFFL BOWLS.

THE FINAL FOUR

One step closer to GFFL BOWL VI.

Wildcard Round in review (focusing on ousted team)..

6. Weiner Dogz (8-6) AT 3. Ducks (9-5)

The defending champions are knocked off by one of their biggest rivals by strong performances by E.Manning and Witten. The Weiner Dogz have become the first champion ever not to repeat a streak that was bound to come to an end. At the end of the day the Weiner Dogz still remain one of only three franchises with GFFL BOWL Championships and have strong keeper options and a good amount of draft picks so they should be able to be right back in the thick of it in 2011.

5. Carolina Falcons (8-6) AT 4. Panthers (11-3)

A pretty big upset led by Manningham and Charles sent the Panthers packing. In any other division they are in the final four with a bye right now with that 11-3 record. Still an unbelievable season by the Panthers with renewed effort from owner Mike Gibson. A team many thought would win the whole thing is still set up for a great future in 2011 with a whole draft great keeper options and the 8th pick in the first round. They fell short of their ultimate goal but still a season to be proud of.

Now we move on to the Final Four congratulations to those that made it. One more win earns a trip to GFFL BOWL VI so don't let up now.

5. Carolina Falcons (8-6) AT 1. Unbeaten Gators (12-2)

Two of the GFFL's all time greats meet here in the divisonal round. This is nothing new they've met in the divional round in '06, GFFL BOWL III, and the '08 divisional round too. The C.Falcons hold a 2-1 post season edge against the U.Gators. Throw the records out though this game means the difference between a berth in GFFL BOWL VI. Both of these teams are looking for an unprecedented 3rd GFFL Bowl Championship it will be interesting to see who comes out of this one. I won't make a prediction on my own game but this should be a great one.

3. Ducks (9-5) AT 2. Kings (9-5)

How do they do it? The Ducks have made three consecutive Final Fours and are the only returning member from last years Final Four. In a year where many thought the Ducks team would fall out and was definitely the worst playoff team to make it have found a way into the Final Four yet again. The craziest thing is they actually have a shot at pulling off the upset and making their 2nd trip to the GFFL Bowl. I say this because the Kings are extremely banged up not only did they lose Gore earlier they've now lost their 2nd best receiver Owens and stud tight end Gates. Even worse news there are no replacement receivers on the roster meaning the waiver wire is their only option and there's only trash there. This team is being held together with duct tape. They should still be favored over the Ducks but this one is going to be a close one and heck I'm not gonna pick a winner in this one either but dont sleep on this game.

This 2010 season has been amazing and the playoffs are looking to be no let down.

Record Breakers

The Unbeaten Gators (1458) shattered the Carolina Falcons(1348) record for points in a season. Also passing that record were the Panthers (1403). The U.Gators and Panthers now occupy four of the top five spots on the most points in a season record.

In the same season the points record was shattered the least points in a season was squeaked out by the Copperheads (940) three points less than the 2009 C.Falcons (943). The Heels also have earned a spot with 993 bad enough for fourth all time. The Ducks also made the list at number 5 all time with 1032.

The U.Gators (12-2) and Panthers (11-3) have both made their way onto the best records of all time. The U.Gators now own the top 3 records of all time 14-1 2005, 12-1-1 2007 and now 12-2 2010.

The Pirates and I.Classics both 3-11 have tied for 3rd worst record of all time.

The Panthers 7 game win streak has placed them 5th all time on regular season win streaks and total win streaks. He needs to win out then win his first game in 2011 to tie the U.Gators longest total win streak of 11.

Of course this year we have to break records on both ends of the spectrum. The Pirates losing 8 in a row finished 3rd all time on regular season losing streak and are currently tied 3rd all time in total losing streaks. If he can lose his first two games in 2011 he will tie the all time record of the '09 Average Joes

How the other half lives

For those of you missing out on the playoffs, there's still a lot to look forward to besides watching your new champion be crowned. It is now the offseason for you the time where you can change your team from missing the playoffs to GFFL BOWL Contender (Kings,Panthers, and C.Falcons all missed the playoffs in 2009). So let's take a look at who will have the best odds at holding that number one pick in the 2011 draft.

The lottery will be held championship week the worse you are the better your chances.

*Rayz have better chance than Classics due to Classics beating Pirates 103-102 in their only meeting.

2011 GFFL DRAFT LOTTERY CHANCES (27 helmets in the box)

1. Rayz 5-9 (via Pirates 3-11) - 9 helmets in the box or a 33% chance

2. Instant Classics 3-11 - 7 helmets in the box or a roughly 26% chance (combined has a 44% chance at securing the top pick in the draft)

3. Instant Classics 3-11 (via Copperheads 4-10) - 5 helmets or a roughly 19% chance

4. Copperheads 4-10 (via Rayz 5-9) - 3 helmets or a roughly 11% chance (combined has a 15% chance at top pick)

5. Heels 5-9 - 2 helmets or a roughly 7% chance

6. Copperheads 4-10 (via Purple Cobras 7-7) - 1 or a roughly 4% chance

The Purple Cobras do not have a 1st round pick and the Pirates have the Kings 1st round pick

2010 GFFL BOWL PLAYOFF IS SET

The playoffs are finally set after one of the best regular seasons I've experienced in a while. Two division races were decided in the last week as well as one playoff spot was up for grabs, but now we finally have the six teams that will be battling it out to go to GFFL BOWL VI.

6. Weiner Dogz 8-6 AT 3. Ducks 9-5

The defending champion Weiner Dogz have squeaked into the playoffs as the sixth seed. Coming off back to back losses and with some of her players looking a little shaky(Forte,Bowe) it would take a lot of magic to have another championship run, but a match up with the Ducks is a step in the right direction.

The Ducks winners of the Central Division by default do not have a playoff roster. You could argue this roster may be the worst in the league featuring no runningback stud, no receiver stud, and now with the Rodger's injury maybe no quarterback stud.

I don't see the winner of this match up getting past the divisional round but stranger things have happened and they both have GFFL BOWL experience. I say the Ducks get revenge after last year's ousting from the Weiner Dogz. The Ducks advance to play the 2. Kings in the divisional in a nail biter.

5. Carolina Falcons 8-6 AT 4. Panthers 11-3

The Carolina Falcons, winners of GFFL BOWL III and GFFL BOWL IV, are back in the playoffs after a one year hiatus and have some good key components in Brees, Turner, and Charles. Definitely a top four team in the league but they are matched up with a juggernaut in round 1.

The Panthers, runner up in GFFL BOWL II, are possibly the best team in the league featuring a very complete line up top to bottom. Any other division they would be sitting in the divisional round on a bye but occupying the same division as the U.Gators has placed them in this wildcard round.

The Carolina Falcons are a good team but the Panthers have too much fire power and will take this one in a very good match up. If my predictions are correct they will go on to play the 1. U.Gators in the divisional round, the top team in the league, but a team the Panthers are 2-0 against this season.

BYES: 1. U.Gators 12-2 and 2. Kings 9-5

There are your scenarios a lot could happen in this last week finding out who gets the last playoff spot, and who will win divisions and get the coveted first round byes.

A Kingdom Crumbling? Race is on for 5 and 6 seeds

3 teams, two seeds available.

1. Unbeaten Gators 10-2 VS Rayz (5-7) AT Rayz (5-7) X

2. Weiner Dogz 8-4 VS Kings (7-5) AT Kings (7-5) X

3. Ducks 7-5 VS I.Classics (4-8) AT I.Classics (4-8)

4. Panthers 9-3 VS Pirates (3-9) AT Pirates (3-9) X

5. Kings 7-5 VS Weiner Dogz (8-4) AT Weiner Dogz (8-4)

6. Purple Cobras 6-6 VS Heels (4-8) AT Heels (4-8)

7. Carolina Falcons 6-6 VS Copperheads (4-8) AT Copperheads (4-8)

Purple Cobras own tie breaker over both the Kings and Carolina Falcons

Carolina Falcons and Kings split their match up and the next tie breaker is overall points which the Kings are barely leading by 15.

So basically it looks like both the Purple Cobras and C.Falcons will win out putting them at 8-6 which would give the Cobras a spot for sure while the rest would be up to the Kings if he wins both he goes to 9-5 and wins the West and would be sitting at the 2 seed if he loses 1 game he will be in a tiebreaking scenario for the six seed with the Carolina Falcons coming down to points overall. If they lose both they're probably for sure done cause I don't see the C.Falcons losing either game and I definitely don't see the Cobras blowing two games.

There is a chance the Cobras can leap frog the Ducks and send them down into the wildcard mix which would be great for the Kings considering they own the tiebreaker over the Ducks but bad for the Carolina Falcons cause the Ducks own the tiebreaker over them.

Kings 7-5 Tiebreaker over Ducks
Purple Cobras 6-6 Tiebreaker over Kings and C.Falcons
Ducks 7-5 Tiebreaker over C.Falcons
C.Falcons 6-6 split with Kings will come down to points

The Playoff Picture about to be shaken up?

It looked like it was almost set just a couple of division races, well I could've been wrong.

CURRENT SEEDING

1. U.Gators 9-2 X
2. Kings 7-4
3. Ducks 6-5
4. Panthers 8-3 X
5. W.Dogz 7-4
6. C.Falcons 6-5
IN THE HUNT (REALISTICALLY)
Rayz 5-6 *own tiebreaker over C.Falcons + Kings
P.Cobras 5-6 *own tiebreaker over C.Falcons + Kings **in the hunt for Central Division
I.Classics 3-8 *only record this bad still alive can only win the Central if Ducks or P.Cobras win a game they're done.

CLINCHING SCENARIOS
W.Dogz clinch playoff spot with win
IF Ducks win then the Instant Classics are eliminated, IF Purple Cobras win then the Instant Classics are eliminated.

Kings can not clinch due to not owning the tiebreakers over either the Rayz or P.Cobras.

CRAZY THOUGHTS

So far this week it looks like the Classics (3-8) could have a real shot at beating the Panthers (8-3) behind Brady's performance, I know it's early but just entertain some scenarios if the Rayz (5-6) are able to beat the Purple Cobras and C.Falcons (6-5) beat the Ducks (6-5) the Classics are alive for yet another week. Then they would have to beat the Ducks twice doable and pray that the Heels sweep the Purple Cobras, it's still a long shot but the fact we're even talking about it is crazy.

The Rayz (5-6) are very much alive if the Ducks can pull off the upset over the C.Falcons they will be holding onto the 6 seed via a tiebreaker. Then if they can split the U.Gator series it's not crazy to think the Copperheads could upset the C.Falcons putting the Rayz in the playoffs.

So the Kings (7-4) are gonna end their playoff drought right? Well maybe not..they
have a brutal schedule with the match up against the U.Gators(9-2) this week then double header against his division rival Weiner Dogz (7-4) I know it's farfetched but if the Kings were to lose out and the Rayz win this week and split the series with the U.Gators then the Kings are watching from home most likely, or if the Kings go 1-2 and the Rayz somehow win out the Kings are sitting at home. It's an unlikely scenario but it sure would be nice to have the tiebreaker over the Rayz and Cobras.

ONE SUPER LONE SENTENCE TO WRAP IT UP
What I think will happen the C.Falcons pull out a win against the Copperheads or two keeping the six seed because the U.Gators won't let this diminished Rayz team beat him especially not twice, the Weiner Dogz-Kings match up is going to be exciting to watch, the Central division will be won by either the Ducks or Purple Cobras there's no way the Purple Cobras don't beet the Heels one time out of two, if the Ducks don't win this week I think the Cobras easily take the division from them, if they do win though the Ducks will take this division, in the East if the Classics pull off the upset this should be done and the U.Gators should get the one seed even though they were swept by the Panthers.

The WEST gets a surprising twist

When you look at the Kings and Weiner Dogz trade at first glance it looks like the W.Dogz severely overpaid for Colston, but upon closer inspection this could cost the Kings big time. Before this deal the Weiner Dogz were severely weak at the flex using a combo of Danny Woodhead and Roy E. Williams in their line up, now they get a top WR2 low WR1 to put in the flex. So in an always scary move the Kings have improved a division rival can they withstand it.

Kings 7-4 QB Roeth HB Jones-Drew HB Gore HB/WR McFadden WR R.White WR Owens TE Gates

W.Dogz 7-4 QB Rivers HB Forte HB F.Jackson HB/WR Colston WR Bowe WR Austin TE Celek

Although the Kings have the better team they now match up a lot closer and it should make for an exciting doubleheader between the two to finish out the season.

WOW

Craziest trade deadline I've ever been a part of..
BIGGEST TRADE: U.Gators Receive: QB Vick, HB Bradshaw, and a 1st (W.Dogz)
Kings Receive: HB Gore

U.Gators Receive: 2nd round pick
Ducks Receive: HB F.Jones and TE Witten

Kings Receive: 1st round (W.Dogz)
W.Dogz Receive: WR Colston

BIGGEST TRADE THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN: the Instant Classics had 3 offers for SJAX, a 1st and 3rd from the Ducks, a 1st from the W.Dogz and Mike Wallace for SJAX and a 3rd from the Panthers but didn't pull the trigger on either.

Good gah, received a call at 11:58 am hearing the Kings owner D.Gibson shout into my ear Vick Bradshaw and a 1st for Gore and Orton, I talked him down to just Gore then tried to get him to swap McFadden for Bradshaw but it didn't happen agreed to the trade at 11:59 am..wow

PLAYOFF PICTURE/Monday Night the Centrals on the line

Every team is technically still alive except the Pirates but I hate to burst everyones bubble but the six playoff teams are pretty much set. The current six seed Carolina Falcons (6-5) play the Ducks then Copperheads twice there's a very small chance they lose one of those.

So the only race to watch is the Ducks and Purple Cobras if Lloyd scores over 10 tonight I think the Cobras run away with this thing, if not we've got a division race on our hands with the loser staying home. The Ducks should look on cheering harder than ever during the monday night game that San Diego keeps Lloyd out of the endzone and below a 100 yards then the Ducks are still very much alive. Everyone should be rooting for the Ducks cause the Cobras just got a whole lot stronger.

In the East and West we now have two insanely heated division races while all four will make the playoffs the winner will receive the much desired and beneficial 1st round bye. In the EAST we have the U.Gators (9-2) and Panthers (8-3). Both of the U.Gators losses came at the hands of the Panthers meaning the Panthers own the tiebreaker giving the U.Gators not a ton of room for leeway over these last 3 games.

REMAINING SCHEDULES
U.Gators 9-2 : Kings (7-4), Rayz (5-6), Rayz (5-6)

Panthers 8-3 : I.Classics (3-8), Pirates (3-8), Pirates (3-8)

The U.Gators and Panthers should win their last two games easily so it all comes down to next week where the U.Gators play another championship contender in the Kings and the Panthers play a losing but dangerous team featuring Brady,CJ, and SJAX. Week 12 will be huge in this race. Winner gets a Bye and the one seed loser plays a wildcard game against either the Kings or defending champion Weiner Dogz.

In the WEST we have the Kings (7-4) and defending champion Weiner Dogz (7-4), this one is extremely interesting cause its going to be based on head to head. Even if the Kings suffer a loss next week to the U.Gators (9-2), they still get the Weiner Dogz twice which would allow them to win the division if they sweep them. Winner gets a bye loser is destined to play either the Panthers or U.Gators on the road not exactly a fun prospect but then again last years champion Weiner Dogz played in the wildcard last year and knocked out their biggest concern in round 1 so they don't care either way most likely.

REMAINING SCHEDULES

Kings (7-4): U.Gators (9-2), W.Dogz (7-4), W.Dogz (7-4)

W.Dogz (7-4): Pirates (3-8), Kings (7-4), Kings (7-4)

Frank the Tank is a U.Gator

U.Gators Receive: HB Frank Gore

Rayz Receive: WR Moss,HB Greene, WR Crabtree, and HB Mathews, 1st (Pirates),2nd(U.Gators),4th,4th, 1st in 2012

QB Orton
HB A.Foster
HB A.Peterson
HB/WR F.Gore
WR A.Johnson
WR C.Johnson
TE Tamme

Let's go, the U.Gators have pushed all their chips into the middle of the table ready to add a 3rd title. After the loss to the Panthers made the East a one game race the U.Gators knew they had to make a big splash to put them back to the forefront of the league. The Rayz are starting to build strong for 2011 and that pick may end up being the first overall. In a later article today I will talk about the 6 playoff teams including the improved Purple Cobras and the Big 3.

Rayz throw up white flag, Purple Cobras improve throroughly

Purple Cobras Receive: WR Harvin, TE V.Davis, QB Schaub, and HB B. Wells

Rayz Receive: WR V.Jackson and 1st round pick

The Rayz are really smart to throw in the towel on this year as I will show in a future article today, the six teams are more than likely set. (Don't expect the 6 seed C.Falcons to lose another game Ducks, Copperheads, Copperheads) With trade deadline fastly approaching other teams would be smart to follow his lead.

Classics and Copperheads trade from last week

Classics Get: 2011 1st and 2011 9th

Copperheads Get: 3rd '11, 5th '11, Ochocinco, 1st '12, 3rd '12

Monday, November 15, 2010

Heading into Week 11 playoff scenarios

Coming into the week

X U.Gators 9-1

Z Rayz 4-6

Z Pirates 3-7

X= Clinched playoff spot

Z= Can not win the division

Week 11 Schedule

Panthers 7-3 VS U.Gators 9-1
P.Cobras 5-5 VS Ducks 5-5
W.Dogz 6-4 VS I.Classics 3-7
Copperheads 3-7 VS Rayz 4-6
Kings 6-4 VS Heels 4-6
Pirates 3-7 VS C.Falcons 5-5

IF: U.Gators Win they clinch the East division and a 1st round bye and at least the 2 seed.
IF: U.Gators Win and Kings lose they clinch the number one seed
IF: W.Dogz Lose the U.Gators clinch at least the 4 seed.
IF: Pirates Lose they are eleminated from playoff contention
IF: Copperheads lose and Kings or W.Dogz AND C.Falcons win they are eleminated from playoff contention.
IF: I.Classics Lose and P.Cobras Win the I.Classics can not win the Central Division
IF: I.Classics Lose and P.Cobras Win AND C.Falcons Win then the I.Classics are eleminated from playoff contention.

TEAM BY TEAM LOOK
1. U.Gators 9-1..Panthers,Kings,Rayz,Rayz..The U.Gators can secure a 1st round bye with a win this week making the other three games basically not matter. Already Clinched so there's one of the six playoff spots taken up.

2. Kings 6-4..Heels,U.Gators,W.Dogz,W.Dogz..The two weeks against the W.Dogz may turn out to be huge for the division race and the 2 seed. The Kings haven't made the playoffs in half a decade but if they can win this week and split the series with the Dogz that should be enough to get them in.

3. Ducks 5-5..P.Cobras,C.Falcons,I.Classics,I.Classics..If they get this sweep over the Purple Cobras this week that basically would put them up 2 games with 3 games to be played and so they'd only have to watch out for the I.Classics who are going to have to be perfect including two match ups against the Ducks to steal this division.

4. Panthers 7-3..U.Gators, I.Classics, Pirates, Pirates.. Basically guaranteed a spot in the playoffs already having 7 wins and having two match ups with the Pirates remaining. The question is can they make a run for the division they're going to have to probably be perfect over these four weeks including winning this week against the division leader U.Gators.

5. Weiner Dogz 6-4..I.Classics,Pirates,Kings,Kings..The defending champion looks to be well on their way to another playoff berth, getting the win over Instant Classics this week would be huge for them cause they don't want to go into the double Kings match up with their playoff spot not secured.

6. Carolina Falcons 5-5..Pirates,Ducks,Copperheads,Copperheads..Sitting at 5-5 but with the easiest schedule of any playoff contender this team should easily win three out of these four giving them almost a definite playoff spot at 8-6.

7. Purple Cobras 5-5..Ducks,Rayz,Heels,Heels..The time is now to have a shot at the division. If they can pull off this win they have a great shot at the division title thanks to their sweep of the Instant Classics. If they go both go 6-8 the Purple Cobras would get the nod if the Purple Cobras win two games there's no shot for the Classics and very little chance for the Ducks. The Heels/Heels ending helps but are the Cobras strong enough to take advantage of it.

8. Rayz 4-6..Copperheads,P.Cobras,U.Gators,U.Gators..Probably the slimmest chance as the wildcard is their only shot and they do not have the tiebreakers against the W.Dogz or C.Falcons the current 5 and 6 seeds so even an 8-6 run could end without the post season.

10. I.Classics 3-7..W.Dogz,Panthers,Ducks,Ducks..Pretty tough schedule but if they can find a way to beat both the W.Dogz and Panthers then the intensity of the final two games against the Ducks could be insane. There's no way this team gets in as a wildcard it's 3 seed Central champ or nothing for this group, I don't think they can get by these next two weeks unscathed but we will see.

Well that was CLASSIC

The week's facts and top story lines in a CRAZY week 10

The U.Gators (9-1) clinched a playoff spot

The Rayz and Pirates officially can not win the East Division

The East is now a two team race between the U.Gators (9-1) and Panthers (7-3) who play in week 11.

The Rayz (4-6) got a crazy win to keep them in the playoff race, they now trail the current 6 seed Carolina Falcons (5-5) and Purple Cobras (5-5) by just one game.

The Rayz still have to play the U.Gators (9-1) twice to end the year.

The Instant Classics (3-7) via Brady won maybe the best fantasy game of the year so far they have pulled within two games of the Central Division.

The Instant Classics need to be rooting hard in week 11 for the Ducks, they need the Purple Cobras to go 1-3 or worse for them to have a shot at stealing the division.

The Ducks and Instant Classics conveniently face off the last two weeks of the season quite possibly with the division on the line.

The defending champion Weiner Dogz look to be headed for yet another playoff berth.

The Kings (6-4) are leading their division after ten games for the first time ever and look to be a lock to make the playoffs.

The Pirates (3-7), Copperheads (3-7), Heels (4-6) are all three done in my opinion.

4 Weeks to play I'll be posting another article today looking at the remaining schedules for possible playoff teams as well as looking at possible playoff clinching scenarios later on today.

Monday, November 8, 2010

Playoff Picture

The Instant Classics are officially out of the playoff picture dropping their 7th game even if they miracously win out and get to 7-7 I highly doubt that'll be enough to punch a ticket to the dance. We can also assume the Copperheads (3-6) and Pirates (3-6) are out of the playoff picture.

So that knocks us down to 9 teams competing for 6 playoff spots. Let's have a look at their chances.

1. U.Gators 8-1 definitely a playoff team and barring something crazy should retain this one spot. With the Foster/Peterson duo at half back and the Megatron/Andre3000 duo at wide out this team is the heavy favorite for the GFFL crown.

2. Kings 5-4 the playoff curse may finally end this year. This team will battle the C.Falcons for Western supremacy but if they fail at that I think they grab a card spot.

3. Ducks 5-4 they need some magic and quick, this team is not that good but good thing for them their division isn't either, if the Cobras falter this division could still belong to the Ducks.

4. Panthers 6-3 starting to gain some cushion in the wildcard race this team should easily be the 4 seed and could be the first team with double digit wins to not win their division. Peyton Manning/Hillis/and his stud receivers make this team a powerhouse and easily the 2nd best team in the league with a chance of being the best.

5. Carolina Falcons 5-4 getting shocked by the Purple Cobras due to poor roster management (left Turner on the bench) is not the way to become a champion. Although losing this game puts the West division back up for grabs they still have to be favored for it and if not I think this team will easily grab a wildcard spot.

6. Weiner Dogz 5-4 the defending champion having dropped two straight is still in good shape having that two game finale with the Kings may lead to one staying home and one partying in the playoffs.

7. Purple Cobras 5-4 good gah Purple Cobras. In the craziest story of the season the Purple Cobras through nine games are leading the Central and heck may have the best team in the Central. Mendy/Lloyd/Fitzpatrick are a trio that are more than capable of taking this division and getting these Cobras into the playoffs. I say pencil them in as the current favorite.

8. Heels 4-5 I doubt they make it in but this team due to record is still in the mix especially in the weak Central.

9. Rayz 3-6 the last team with faint hope very faint hope, but with a talented roster and one game down they need to win 5 straight including 2 against the U.Gators

18 Peyton Manning days until trade deadline

18 ladies and gentlemen, 18 days to decide if you're making a run at GFFL BOWL VI. Are you a buyer or a seller at this deadline while 3 more fantasy games will be played before you have to make a decision but it's worth figuring it out now if you have a big offer in your face or if you're planning on being a buyer cause these next 3 games can play a huge roll on the playoff picture or if youre a seller, your player's value. So what would I do if I was in your shoes..have a look.

Team - Buy/Stay/Sell
U.Gators 7-1 - BUY Off to a great start but can afford to make a deal for a stronger flex play to try to cement a championship. Tried to trade for CJ and are now working on a monster deal for another back.

Panthers 5-3 - BUY Stud QB, WRs, FLEX, and TE but average backs. Having not touched their draft picks it may be wise to try to trade for a stud back and try to compete with the U.Gators for the 2010 title.

Pirates 3-5 - SELL Everyone other than Romo and Dez need to be up for grabs for the right price and stock a draft up for 2011. Tolbert, Ryan, Green-Ellis, Floyd, S.Rice, Moreno are notable players that could bring in some picks.

Rayz 2-6 - SELL Talented team but with a daunting 2 game stretch at the end of the season against the U.Gators and already harnessing 6 losses, a 7th loss could be a killer and it seems unbelievably crazy to count on 5-1 which still may not get it done. He needs to real off a 6-0 record over the last 6 weeks to have a legitimate shot of getting in. I say sell you've got some great players get some picks and try to dominate in 2011.

Ducks 5-3 - STAY This team is honestly not anywhere close enough talent wise to be considered one player away. It's not worth throwing away 2011 to try to get this team to contender level. Maybe make a small trade with a mid round pick like getting a Moreno or a couple of roll players from the Pirates.

Heels 4-4 - BUY A big trade could win the Central and he's gotta be getting tired of being a middle of the road team. I'd target a QB upgrade and search for another trade to make and get into the dance.

Purple Cobras 4-4 - BUY Same thing as the Heels, the Cobras have a chance to shock the whole league and enter the playoffs. Fitzpatrick, Mendenhall, Lloyd are a heck of a big three get them some help ASAP and take the Central Jonny this could be your year how many more times do you think you're randomly gonna find a QB1 and WR1 out of players who have never done anything DONT WASTE IT.

I.Classics 2-6 - BUY This is a conflicting situation and as you can tell by Christian's trade yesterday he is obviously going for it. I think the only way he gets in is if he wins the Central. He is currently trailing both the Ducks and P.Cobras(swept by them so they lose tiebreaker) by 3 games. However this Sunday the P.Cobras and Ducks are huge underdogs in their match up while the Instant Classics play the Copperheads. If the Classics hold off the Copperheads and pull within 2 games with 5 games to play this could turn into a heck of a 4 team division race. If they get upset by the Copperheads obviously you turn into a seller but if he wins the two week games against the Ducks to end the year are gonna be good gah insane.

Carolina Falcons 5-3 - BUY Only if he can get a number one wide receiver. This team should have never traded Gates but it is still studly at this point and probably the 2nd or 3rd best team in the league.

Weiner Dogz 5-3 - BUY Defending champions have a pretty good team but could definitely use a jolt from an incoming stud to try to get this repeat thing in motion.

Kings 4-4 - STAY First time in a long time they haven't been a seller at the deadline. I think his team is as good as he's gonna be able to get it due to his lack of picks and a pretty solid team already. You could make an argument for them as the number 3 team in the league stay put and try to get that playoff berth.

Copperheads 2-6 - SELL With 3 first round picks already he'll be the one laughing next year but for now keep selling get any and every pick you can.

Instant Classics acquire Garcon and Evans

Moss and some change to the U.Gators; MJD back to the Kings

U.Gators Get: WR R.Moss and HB R.Mathews

Kings Get: HB M.Jones-Drew

The U.Gators are ecstatic to get Randy Moss and the throw in of Ryan Mathews and his soft run schedule coming up is just gravy. As for the Kings they get their slumping favorite superstar back but with the way Jacksonville is playing I don't know how much success he can have this season but at least Dylan's t shirt makes sense again now.

Struggling Rayz, Slumping Classics, Crumbling Kings..

Rayz are sitting at 1-5 four games back of the East Division they won in 2009 and 2 games back of the 6 seed in the wildcard. The Instant Classics have dropped four straight since their 2-0 start to fall 2 games back in the Central and a game back of the 6 seed. What else do these teams have in common oh yeah they play each other week 7. This is a must win for the Rayz if they lose a 6th game this early it's over, as for the Classics if they slip to 2-5 the Central (with the Heels easy schedule and hot start) looks out of reach and both the Classics and Rayz would be battling to try to sneak into the playoffs and the Rayz would have the tiebreaker over the Classics.

The Kings a week ago highly talented waiting for their stud QB Vick to get back and rake points while celebrating their trade for the top tight end Gates scoring like a receiver looked to be a legitimate championship contender..now a loss to the Purple Cobras coupled with Gates being in a walking boot and Kolb looking to be the starter in Philly this team is in complete dissaray. I still think the Kings have enough to get it done but they can't afford to blow anymore gimme games.

CURRENT PLAYOFF PICTURE

6. Carolina Falcons 3-3 AT 3. Weiner Dogz 4-2

5. Panthers 4-2 AT 4. Heels 4-2

1. U.Gators 5-1 and 2. Ducks 4-2 (BYES)

I think there's only 3 of these teams locked in for sure and that's the U.Gators, Panthers, and Heels(due to their soft schedule and heck they're just beating people). The Panthers may drop another one next week with Peyton and Wayne out but they're definitely a playoff team.

Saturday, October 16, 2010

Rayz make two trades

TRADE 1

Pirates Get: HB Green-Ellis

Rayz Get: 3rd and 6th round picks

TRADE 2

Copperheads Get: 3rd and 5th round picks,HB B.Jackson, WR Branch

Rayz Get: WR Harvin and WR Ward

GFFL 3rd of the way through

EAST Division Contenders: Panthers 4-1, U.Gators 4-1

CENTRAL Division Contenders: Ducks 4-1, Heels 3-2, P.Cobras 2-3, I.Classics 2-3

WEST Division Contenders: W.Dogz 3-2, C.Falcons 2-3, Kings 2-3

WILDCARD Contenders: Everyone except Copperheads

Teams that are DONE: Copperheads 1-4

It's crazy to be 5 games through the year and still have this cluttered picture the only teams that look to be playoff locks are the Panthers and U.Gators. I'll still make some predictions though.

EAST CHAMPION: U.Gators - looking forward to that week 11 showdown with the Panthers which may decide the division crown.

CENTRAL CHAMPION: I.Classics - getting behind early and I expect them to stay behind the Ducks until the week 13 and 14 back to back match ups with the Ducks where they will still the central with two victories.

WEST CHAMPION: Carolina Falcons - The most talented team in the West trading away Gates hurt but I still think this former two time champion has enough to get back to the post season.

WILDCARD SEED #4: Panthers - Easily a top 2 team in the league and could very well be the East Division winner but whoever loses it will be a lock for the four seed I think that'll be the Panthers.

WILDCARD SEED #5: Kings - Getting Gates was huge, behind on a lot of the tiebreakers already makes the road a little bit harder than it should be but I think the Kings finally end their playoff drought.

WILDCARD SEED #6: Weiner Dogz - The defending champions squeak in and maybe ready to have a little run, Rivers,Forte,Austin solid core definitely good enough to find a way into the dance.

U.Gators Get: WR Welker

C.Falcons Get: WR L.Moore, 3rd and 4th round picks

Power Rankings Week 5

1. Unbeaten Gators 4-0 PRV. #1 - Continuing to put up wins, have a huge match up looming against the Panthers the 2nd team on this list for supremacy in the East and the league.

2. Panthers 3-1 PRV. #2 - Demolished the Rayz and the Colts loss, a great week for the Panthers. It's looking more and more like Peyton and Wayne will be available for the fantasy playoffs for once which would be huge for the Panthers title chances. Can they beat division leader U.Gators this week?

3. Carolina Falcons 2-2 PRV. #6 - This team looks like the real deal and with wins over the Panthers and Kings this team has to move up to 3rd. I'll say it now the Carolina Falcons should be heavily favored for the division crown in the West.

4. Instant Classics 2-2 PRV. #3 - Starting to get a little worried about this team CJ isn't having a bad season but it's nowhere near an MVP caliber season SJAX is slowed by his groin while PT doesn't look to live up to the hype and the Classic's receiving core is a mess. With saying all that I still think this team takes the Central.

5. Heels 3-1 PRV. #9 - Notched a big win and sitting at 3-1 it's not crazy to think with the McCoy/Best combo this team could challenge for the Central.

6. Kings 1-3 PRV. #4 - Soft two weeks coming up will be 3-3 in a bit but losing to the C.Falcons hurt big time, I still see a wildcard in their future but if they want a division title they'll have to step it up.

7. Ducks 3-1 PRV. #7 - Not putting up big points at all but hey a win is a win and sitting at 3-1 at this point of the year makes a chance at a playoff run very possible.

8. Rayz 1-3 PRV. #5 - This team is in complete dissaray and the schedule doesn't get any easier playing against a Pirates team that can put up points without Moss, a strong Carolina Falcons team, the Instant Classics, then the Panthers again they could very well come out of this stretch at 2-6 with 6 games to go including back to back games against the U.Gators to finish the year.

9. Weiner Dogz 2-2 PRV. #8 - Not scoring a lot of points but they're still tied for the lead in the West if they want a real shot at winning it and showing they're the defending champs beating the Carolina Falcons this week is a must win.

10. Pirates 1-3 PRV. #10 - As I've said before the Pirates really aren't this bad it's just the division they play in but if they beat the Rayz they'll move into the single digits.

11. Copperheads 1-3 PRV. #11 - Still play in the West, crazier things have happened if they can get lucky in a couple divisional games maybe? As I say every week though this is your 2011 Western Division Champion.

12. Purple Cobras 1-3 PRV. #12 - Team has a glimmer of hope for next year with good keepers and picks but drastic things would have to happen for this team to get in the playoffs.

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Power Rankings Week 4

1. Unbeaten Gators 3-0 PRV. #1 - Close call on Copperhead rode eeking out a victory by four to stay undefeated while the other top ranked teams fell. Easily best starting line up top to bottom.

2. Panthers 2-1 PRV. #2 - Terrible luck, this stud team is 2nd in the league in points and posted 110 in week 3 only to lose by two to the Anquan Boldin show. With Peyton Hillis stepping up as a strong runningback two this team is downright studly.

3. Instant Classics 2-1 PRV. #3 - Pretty good week with 92 points but ran into the King explosion. Still part of the 3 clear cut top teams in the league although his widereceiver and depth situation could catch up to him he should run away with the Central.

4. Kings 1-2 PRV. #7 - Good gah this team came out firing posting the 2nd highest score in GFFL history. I'm gonna have to see him score consistently but this looks like your West division favorites and a good team to place at the 4 spot.

5. Rayz 1-2 PRV. #4 - The Rayz blew a gimme game against the Heels and now have their backs against the wall if they want to stay competitive in the East. The Panthers come to town this week and the Rayz need this game to even think about a shot at the East Division. With the Ray Rice injury and a horrid 5 game stretch coming up the Rayz may have to scratch and claw to make it to the dance.

6. Carolina Falcons PRV. #8 - This team has a great line up and got a huge win over the Panthers, they'll battle the Kings for Western supremacy.

7. Ducks 2-1 PRV. #9 - Notched a good win over the W.Dogz still not a playoff team but if DWILL and Fitz will wake up to combine with Rodgers' excellent play this team could definitely get in.

8. Weiner Dogz PRV. #5 - The defending GFFL champ is struggling mightily out of the gate, still have a strong big 3 with Rivers Forte and Austin but they are gonna be in a dog fight for the Western Division.

9. Heels 2-1 PRV. #6 - Big win over the Rayz, but the Best injury is certainly a setback. No strong starter at QB this team will have a tough time punching a playoff ticket.

10. Pirates 1-2 PRV. #10 - Missed out on a gimme game but this team is definitely not that bad only problem is they play in the East so wait till next year.

11. Copperheads 1-2 PRV. #11 - Huge out of nowhere week with 91 points not good enough for a win but if they can somehow manage those points they'll rise up in these rankings quick.

12. Purple Cobras 1-2 PRV. #12 - Got their first win, maybe their only win of the year but they did dodge the reverse perfect season I'm impressed.

Beanie Wells dealt to Rayz

Unbeaten Gators Get: 2nd and 7th round picks

Rayz Get: HB Beanie Wells

Thursday, September 23, 2010

RBN acquires Spiller

Real Big Niggas Get: HB CJ Spiller

Rayz Get: WR Cotchery and 2nd rounder

While the RBN overpaid a bit with a 2nd rounder I do like the trade from their standpoint, Spiller still has potential and Vogler desperately needed runningback depth. This trade screams to me that Vogler is going for the playoffs this year though. As for the Rayz they are still searching for that flex play but they must feel Spiller doesn't have much to show this season and getting a 2nd rounder is excellent value for him.

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Power Rankings Week 3

1. Unbeaten Gators 2-0 PRV. #1 - The U.Gators have beat two top notch teams to open up the season including beating the defending champion Weiner Dogz. Adding MJD to the mix will only keep this team rolling.

2. Panthers 2-0 PRV. #3 - Peyton Manning is a killer this season the Panthers only problem is playing in the East but this team will be in the playoffs and dangerous. A trade for a number 2 back would put this team over the top.

3. Instant Classics 2-0 PRV. #2 - Rough week but still pulled out the win, it'd be nice if they can add a top notch receiver but even with Ocho and the rook they're still in the upper echelon of the league and the clear favorite for the Central division.

4. Rayz 1-1 PRV. #5 - The last of the Big 4 happens to play in the East as well this looks like a playoff team but they could definitely use help at the flex position.

5. Weiner Dogz 1-1 PRV. #4 - This is your West Division favorite, not a bad team but JSTEW is gonna have to get back on track for this team to get any championship buzz.

6. Heels 1-1 PRV. #10 - What a difference a week makes, Best and McCoy look down right studly as his runningback duo his receivers aren't that bad if Favre just gets back on track I think you're looking at a serious contender for a wildcard spot.

7. Kings 0-2 PRV. #7 - I like the trades the Kings have made and Vick remaining the starter in Philly is a huge boost but potential can only keep you this high for so long, it's time to win some games. They need to find a way to beat the Classics and avoid that 0-3 hole.

8. Carolina Falcons 0-2 PRV. #6 - I still like this team but Turner has to get healthy and they like the Kings need to beat the Panthers to avoid an 0-3 start. As weak as the West is this year you won't be able to count either of these teams out for a while, but if they want any shot at being a wildcard they have to start winning.

9. Ducks 1-1 PRV. #8 - Got a win over the Copperheads but only put up 71, DWILL looks less than studly as does Fitzgerald this team still has what it takes to catch fire and steal a 6 seed in the playoffs but it looks like a division crown will be very tough to attain.

10. Real Big Niggas 1-1 PRV. #9 - Not as bad as expected but when you have 6 games left on your schedule against the U.Gators, Panthers, Rayz it makes every other game a must win.

11. Copperheads 1-1 PRV. #11 - The picking up of IR runningback Ryan Grant further confirms this team is all about building a winner for 2011. Even with that mindset they still aren't the worst in the league.

12. Purple Cobras 0-2 PRV. #12 - This may be their last shot at a win all season going against RBN, if they lose this it could be the first ever 0-14 the GFFL has ever seen.

Witten dealt to the Cowboys aka Voglers team

Vogler continues to add every Cowboy besides the best one Miles Austin (W.Dogz), but getting a stud tightend for a fourth rounder is a nice trade for this potential sleeper to make the playoffs. This could very well be Dickenson 2.0 but with a slightly better team after this week they could very well be 2-1 and with some luck and maybe another trade or two they could sneak in. Obviously the East is the best division in the GFFL by far with the U.Gators, Panthers, Rayz, and RBN. The Kings are not throwing in the towel they however have to decided to play the waiver wire.

Monday, September 20, 2010

MJD comes to the U.Gators

U.Gators Get: HB M.Jones-Drew

Kings Get: HB R.Mathews, WR R.White, 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks

The Kings are trying to turn things around after an 0-2 start and put more stock into multiple players. While the U.Gators hope for MJD to get back to his stud level and have the best backfield in the league with Peterson, MJD, and Foster.

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Adrian Peterson a Gator Again

Just in time for the rematch of last years divisional round game Peterson is back with the U.Gators to play the W.Dogz.

U.Gators Get: HB Peterson, HB F.Jones, WR Crabtree and a 4th

Kings Get: HB Charles, WR Jennings, WR Marshall

Pretty great trade for both sides the Kings now have a complete team while the U.Gators get even stronger.

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Power Rankings Week 2

1. Unbeaten Gators 1-0 PRV. #1 - Took care of business week 1 Arian Foster broke out in a big way. With all the options on this team should have great match ups every week.

2. Instant Classics 1-0 PRV. #3 - Brady,CJ2k,SJAX,PT the team looks great putting up the highest score in week 1. They don't have a ton of depth but this team is definitely a championship contender.

3. Panthers 1-0 PRV. #4 - Peyton Manning looks down right studly this year thanks to Indy's inability to run the ball. With the Colts losing out of the gate a scary thought enters the equation could the Panthers have Peyton for the playoffs good gah this team is here in a big way especially if his runningbacks step up.

4. Weiner Dogz 1-0 PRV. #6 - Defending champs handled the Rayz in a rematch of last years title game. They look like they'll be in the playoffs for a 3rd consecutive year.

5. Rayz 0-1 PRV. #2 - That didn't go as planned. It's not time to hit the panic button for the Rayz they still have a good team weak at the flex but a good team this is still a playoff team and I'm not gonna overreact to one week. This game against the Kings though is as big as an early season game can be.

6. Carolina Falcons 0-1 PRV. #7 - Brees, Turner, Gates, Welker and Boldin look pretty dang good. Welcome back to relevance this could turn into a pretty nice dog fight between the C.Falcons and W.Dogz for the West.

7. Kings 0-1 PRV. #5 - Very dissapointing start to the season blowing one of the gimme games against RBG. They could really use a win against the Rayz this week but I don't know about this team being a division winner they're gonna be in a fight for the wildcard barring a trade for receiver help.

8. Ducks 0-1 PRV. #8 - Lost to the Panthers and lost her number 2 tailback not how you want to start the season but the Ducks will still be playoff competitors it's just gonna be very tough.

9. Real Big Niggas 1-0 PRV. #12 - 1st game for the franchise, 1st win the RBN have to be pretty happy with the results although this team doesn't have playoff talent they could steal a couple more wins this year.

10. Heels 0-1 PRV. #9 - Good news found a stud in McCoy, this team could use a trade or two but it's not crazy to think with a couple breaks they could be on the cusp of the playoffs.

11. Copperheads 1-0 PRV. #11 - Got even better for 2011 this is your west winner next year. As for this year it'd take a miracle to get to the playoffs.

12. Purple Cobras 0-1 PRV. #10 - They'll have one more chance at a W when they play RBN but if they don't win there this could be the first winless team?

Copperheads Killing the Trade Market

I don't know how they're doing it but the Copperheads have quietly collected 4 1st round picks, 3 2nd round picks and 3 3rd round picks for 2011. Most recently he got the Purple Cobras to overpay by sending McNabb, 1st,3rd for Henne, R.Brown, and a 5th. The Copperheads look to be among the leagues elite in 2011 if they even draft half way good. As for the Purple Cobras maybe they've changed their mind and are taking a shot this year? If so they need to take their other 1st and 3rd and trade for receiver help and they could have a shot at a wildcard.

Kings Get: QB Flacco, HB F.Jones, and an 11th rounder

Copperheads Get: QB Henne, HB R.Brown, WR Ward, 2nd, 2nd, and a 3rd

Well the copperheads will win the West in 2011 they now have 3 1sts 3 2nds and 2 3rds good gah. As for the Kings they severely overpaid but its a slight upgrade so it helps for this year.

TEST VIDEO

Rayz go all in

The Rayz traded McNabb, Cadillac, 1st and 3rd rounders to get Schaub and Spiller. The highest pick they now own in the 2011 draft is a 5th rounder. Going all in isn't a bad idea though Schaub is a stud QB and Spiller is a nice flex play, as for the Purple Cobras the rebuilding starts now as he has a pair of 1sts for next year as long as he keeps Mendenhall he should be able to use those two picks to be pretty competitive..next year. The U.Gators-Rayz rivalry just went up a notch as they look like easily the top two teams in the league now.

Instant Classics land PT

I.Classics Get: HB P.Thomas

C.Falcons Get: WR Boldin

A great trade for both sides, Brandon desperately needed a receiver and Christian got the best player in the deal here so its a win win. PT could explode this year in NO and gives Christian one of the best RB stables in the league with CJ SJAX and PT.

Sunday, August 29, 2010

Matt Ryan dealt to the C.Falcons

Needing roster space to sign a kicker before the opener the U.Gators were gonna have to deal a player and decided on Matt Ryan. After being offered 4th round picks by multiple teams the U.Gators decided to trade him outside of the division and to his biggest fan in the Carolina Falcons. A solid trade by both sides Matt Ryan could be great in his 3rd year and the U.Gators would have had to eventually cut him so win-win.

UG Gets: 4th rounder

CF Gets: QB Matt Ryan

Saturday, August 21, 2010

Copperheads Building for 2011?

Copperheads Get: F.Jones, Slaton, and a 1st

I.Classics Get: S.Jackson and Chambers

The Instant Classics get another stud back to line up with CJ so the trades a definite win for him. Looking at it from the Copperheads angle SJAX probably didn't give them enough fire power to be an upper tier team so getting another 1st round pick for 2011. The Copperheads now have 3 2011 first round picks and look to be in great shape to be a strong team next year. As for this year they'll probably live in the cellar of the West Division and should try to continue to assemble draft picks for a run in 2011.

Romo finds his way home

It was only a matter of time before Romo became part of Vogler88..

UG Get: QB Jay Cutler, 1st, 2nd, and 4th

V88 Get: QB Tony Romo

GFFL SEASON PREDICTIONS (CENTRAL)

1. Instant Classics - QB Brady HB C.Johnson HB F.Jones HB/WR Jacobs WR Boldin WR Ochocinco TE Clark

The Central is gonna be a dog fight between the Classics and Ducks in 2010 but I give the Classics the nod due to Chris Johnson but it's gonna be close this could go either way. If CJ slips at all the Classics are in huge trouble this team revolves around one player and if CJ goes they go if CJ falters they falter. Even more so than in 2009 this is all about CJ. Boldin and Ocho are both WR2s, Brady is still top 10 but he's not what he used to be, Felix and Jacobs are in RBBC and look to be 2nd in those. Clark is a huge boost though as he can put up WR2 numbers from the tight end slot.

2. Ducks - QB Rodgers HB D.Williams HB Grant HB/WR M.Barber WR Fitzgerald WR Driver TE Shiancoe

A more complete team than the Instant Classics, but I worry about the lack of WR depth and Fitzgerald's numbers slipping due to Leinart. Rodgers is a flat out stud though and will keep the Ducks battling the Classics all year long. They could definitely use a trade for wide receiver help but I'm not sure they'll be able to get one done. If Fitz and DWILL stay healthy though this team will punch their ticket to the playoffs if one of them goes down it'll be a long season.

3. Heels - QB Favre HB McCoy HB Best HB/WR Forsett WR S.Smith (NYG) WR Sims-Walker TE Daniels

The Heels are actually a strong sleeper for this division they could definitely use a stud on this team but it is very complete and if the Ducks suffer an injury and CJ slips the Heels could possibly sneak into the GFFL playoffs. Their only route for a 2010 playoff appearance is winning the Central cause this team just isn't good to snag a wildcard spot.

4. Purple Cobras - QB Schaub HB Mendenhall HB Spiller HB/WR T.Jones WR S.Moss WR Berrian TE Winslow Jr.

Schaub and Mendenhall are studs but after that this is a little league team. If they could make a trade for a stud receiver they'd shoot in front of the Heels for me and could even contend with the Ducks and Classics. If I'm Jonny it's time to take advantage of this opportunity and do some shopping for the receiver to put them in the playoff picture.

GFFL SEASON PREDICTIONS (EAST)

EAST DIVISION

1. U.Gators - QB Romo HB R.Mathews HB Greene HB/WR Marshall WR A.Johnson WR Calv. Johnson TE Finley

This is the best team I've ever put together and with a strong starting line up coupled with the strongest bench ever seen in the GFFL (R.White Jennings Charles B.Wells) this year I should run away with the East and I'm thinking GFFL Bowl VI.

2. Rayz - QB McNabb HB R.Rice HB Gore HB/WR Aromashadu WR R.Moss WR Colston TE V.Davis

Defending East Division champions, they've put together a pretty good team lacking a great flex play and depth though they're hoping to ride Rice/Gore/R.Moss back to the GFFL Bowl. I say look for the Rayz to definitely clinch a wildcard spot and hold off the Panthers for 2nd place in the East.

3. Panthers - QB P.Manning HB Benson HB R.Williams HB/WR Wallace WR Wayne WR D.Jackson TE Cooley

The Ben Tate injury hurts as he was counting on him to be his HB3 but the Panthers are still strong at wide receiver and QB but Ricky Williams as his HB2 hurts and puts him behind the Rayz and in 3rd place in the East.

4. Vogler88 - QB Cutler HB Moreno HB Hightower HB/WR D.Bryant WR S.Rice WR Meachem TE ???

First year for Michael Vogler shouldn't be that bad but it's definitely a rebuilding year but 2011 watch out Vogler88 is loaded with draft picks and could go into the draft with Cutler Moreno S.Rice then 2 1sts 2 2nds and 2 3rds to build with. If he drafts well Vogler88 could make their first playoff appearance, but for 2010 unless they make some trades 4th place is where they'll be.

Cowboys-Bengals GFFL Effect

In the boring preseason month when I get a chance I'll throw together a little article showing what I learned from the game. Although it's dangerous reading too much into preseason you can learn a bit and I've got nothing else to do so why the heck not.

Terrell Owens, Kings and Chad Ochocinco, I.Classics - TO was targetted 4 times while Ocho was targetted only once. Could the batman robin talk be for real? Could Owens be the WR1 on this team? Honestly I don't know on this one what I see happening with this situation is TO and Ocho eat into each others stats and come close to a fair split making them both low end WR2s in fantasy..good for Owens owners bad for Ocho owners. Palmer and Cincy's weak pass protection will keep the Bengals arial attack from being good enough to have a top 10 passing attack.

Felix Jones, I.Classics and Marion Barber, Ducks - Looks a lot like a full RBBC maybe even including Tashard Choice. Felix still a homerun threat but both him and Barber look like RB3's/Flex options. Barber definitely looks like the goaline back Felix's fumble sure didn't help. Choice looks like a guy who could carry the load if given the opportunity too bad.

Tony Romo, U.Gators and Miles Austin, W.Dogz - The Cowboys connection looked pretty good other than a few errant throws from Romo and one drop by Austin. As much as I can tell from limited action the Cowboys offense should be potent unfortunately with Dez coming off injury he'll probably be eased in the offense meaning Bust Roy Williams will get one last shot. Romo is a definite QB1 and I think Austin is a very legitimate WR1. As much as I hate Dallas they're gonna be very good this year.

In other news Ahmad Bradshaw is taking the vast majority of 1st team carries with New York and Jacobs is rumored to be pushed to 3rd down and Goaline roles lowering his value substantially.

The Revis hold out looks like it could last a while all AFC East receivers get a slight bump with the chance they won't be stranded on Revis island twice this year.

Vincent Jackson dealt for Aromashadu and a 1st

U.Gators Get: WR Vincent Jackson

Rayz Get: WR Devin Aromashadu and a 1st round pick

Vincent Jackson is facing a three game suspension and has yet to report to training camp so this is a calculated risk on my part. Aromashadu has potential to bust out in Martz's offense but is currently 3rd on the depth chart. This is a move the Rayz had to make though as they need flex options and couldn't wait out a Vjax hold out.

Is this it?

Favre's retirement kills the Vikings superbowl dreams and maybe drops them to 3rd in the NFC North but what about the GFFL?

HEELS - Favre's retirement is a huge blow and he is now forced to having Matt Cassel as his QB1. The Heel's playoff chances may have all but disappeared.

VOGLER88 - Sidney Rice obviously is severely effected by this, Tjax just can't get the ball to him like Favre can he is now a low WR2.

COPPERHEADS - Percy Harvin same situations as Sidney Rice although he may not be hurt quite as much. I could see the Vikings throwing a lot of quick slants and checkdowns to get the ball into Percy's hands I'd even go as far to say that without Favre, Harvin, not Rice is the Vikings number 1 fantasy receiver.

KINGS - Adrian Peterson will face more men in the box than ever, he will also get more carries than ever. It'll be interesting to see what that does to his fantasy value his touchdowns will come down for sure I think at best Peterson puts up 20 points or so less than his total in 2009 and at worst he gets totally shut down and the Vikings can't get anything done.

DUCKS - Visanthe Shiancoe will more than likely go back to being more of a blocking option but then again inexperienced QB's like to use the tightend a lot I just don't think he'll be anywhere close to last year look for a steep decline in numbers.

Everyone should feel horrible for the Heels unless you're in the Central Division then I guess you're feeling pretty great.

Unknown Owner will make their way into the GFFL

The Princesses/Average Joes franchise has never really gotten off the ground in the GFFL. It will come under new ownership for the 3rd time in 3 years. In 2008 they posted a 4-10 record under Rebekah Mattox then in 2009 they posted a 3-11 record under Josh Phillips who resigned and Rebekah Mattox. An unknown owner will assume ownership of this franchise immediately and hopefully will provide stable ownership to this franchise. They will of course be allowed to rename the team. This franchise is actually in pretty good shape for a run in 2011. They have all of their draft picks plus the Kings 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th round picks. So while this year they will probably still struggle, with a good draft in 2011 things could change quickly for this franchise. Some of the people we are currently talking to about it are Phillip Bullock, Michael Vogler, Charlie Moran and sending out feelers else where. As commissioner I will do my best to find a dedicated owner to keep the GFFL being the most NFL like fantasy football experience out there.

Top 10 gffl questions in 2010

1. Can the wiener dog repeat?

The wiener dogz are from the favorites to win gffl bowl VI but don't count them out. The western division isn't too strong I couldn't see the dog getting a wildcard spot their only chance is to win the west. If they can do that and secure the 3 seed they would have a good first round match up and a great chance to make the final four and from there anything can happen. They need the kings to suffer some hard luck and injuries for them to capture the west and even after that winning 3 straight games with this years squad is gonna be a stretch. At the moment I say outside looking in but barely.

2. Stop me if you've heard this before, can the kings finally punch a ticket to the playoffs?

Its been 4 years since the kings entered the gffl playoffs (2005) since that year 11 different gffl franchises have made the playoffs (u.gators, c.falcons, panthers, gators, pack attack, ducks, weiner dogz, rayz, mountaineers, instant classics, titans). Could 2010 finally be the year to reverse the curse? He's got the line up even after some trades to make a serious run and he has the weakest division but then again the kings curse is strong I am however predicting the kings will crack the door and make it to week 15.

3. Can the Rayz beat the gffl bowl hangover?

The 2005 runner up kings failed to make the playoffs in 2006, the 2006 runner up panthers lost in the divisional round in 2007, the 2007 runner up u.gators lost in the divisional round in 2008, the 2008 runner up ducks lost in the divisional round in 2009. Notice the trend no gffl bowl loser has returned to the gffl bowl the following year. I think the rayz have potential to get back but with the vjax mess and a weak flex spot combined with this trend and if you think the u.gators will force the rayz to have to get a wildcard spot it's gonna be a tough road and as the 4 seed could have a match up against the one seed so I'll say the rayz will be repeating the past and falling in the final 4.

4. Who will win the central?

Both the ducks and instant classics are fielding worse teams than they had last year but they're still easily the front runners for the central. I think cj is gonna fall off a good bit but I also think dwill and Fitzgerald will fall off leading to a very competitive fight for the central. My prediction ducks win it cause they have more studs than the instant classics but I do think the instant classics due to cj and good management and lack of great teams in the gffl this year will find a place in the wildcard.

5. Most likely 09 playoff team to not make it back?

Easily the copperheads. The copperheads have some good youth but it seems like they'll be more suited to compete in 2011. Going in their favor though is the weak west but I think they're the 4th best team in that. I'll go on record saying now the copperheads will be nowhere near the playoffs in 2010. In saying that though they'll have a good shot if they manage right to steal the west back in 2011. I will say this no one thought they would make it last year but with some luck they found a way.

Brees on the move

The kings have a reputation for questionable offseason transactions and this year is no different a day after moving shonn green to the u.gators for backups they have moved the top fantasy qb drew brees a long with Pierre Thomas and Tomlinson and a 5th for injury prone running back Steven Jackson coming off back surgery qb2 Matt Ryan and cj spiller the young rookie with upside although he is stuck in a crowded buffalo backfield. If sjax can stay healthy and improve on his touchdown numbers the kings could win this trade but as for now I say the Carolina falcons win by a long shot and the west division just got a lot tighter opening up a chance for the defending champion wiener dogz and the two time champ Carolina falcons to have a shot to win the west division. If everyone stays healthy the kings are still the team to beat in the west it's just not as concrete anymore. Other news around the league the instant classics are openly pursuing a trade and most importantly ducks owner and my mom Pam Gibson is undergoing surgery today so be sure to keep her in your prayers thank you.

Shonn Greene the newest Unbeaten Gator

I love Shonn Greene for this year and selling three of my back ups (Pierre, Aromashadu, Bradshaw and a 5th rounder) was a no brainer. Greene/Charles/Beanie will all see time at the runningback 2 slot and maybe even some flex time. I'm extremely confident at the very least one of these three will emerge as a runningback 1 possibly all three. As for the Kings it wasn't a bad move as they need depth but if Greene plays like I think he will then it turns into a bad move.

GFFL EFFECT: Chris Johnson's contract

Chris Johnson is a beast. A severley underpaid beast with a chance to hold out. I'd say there's currently a 35% chance he holds out just because of how severley underpaid he is. So what is the effect.

Instant Classics - This is an easy one without CJ the Instant Classics are nowhere near a playoff team. They need CJ to not only play but to thrive like last season as there is less talent around him on this years Instant Classics then last year. Without CJ the Classics line up is QB Brady HB Best HB Jacobs Flex Slaton(Maybe) WR Boldin WR Ochocinco TE Daniels definitely not a playoff roster probably top 10 but with CJ they are in the top 6 looking to make another trip to the playoffs. So CJ = playoffs CJ Hold out = lottery pick thats all you need to know about this GFFL EFFECT.

GFFL EFFECT: Vincent Jackson Hold Out

This new thing I'm doing for 2010 is I take some NFL news and do the GFFL EFFECT and explain how I feel it effects the league. So let's start with some huge news the VJAX holdout. Vincent Jackson missed the deadline to sign his tender and he is strongly expected to sit out the first ten games of the season. Reason being he needs 6 games for it to count as a season credit for his contract status thus making him a freeagent in 2011. So how does it effect the Gibson Fantasy Football League

Rayz - The current owner of Vincent Jackson who he selected in the 3rd round is obvioulsy effected the most. The Rayz were counting heavily on him to be their flex play and to allow them to still have two strong receivers even on bye weeks. The original starting line up was good enough to be in the top 2 of the league, but without VJAX the flex options are HB Hardesty, HB R.Bush, HB C.Williams, HB D.Ward, and WR Demar. Thomas none of those are strong options and none of them are week to week starters. Add on to the fact that when R.Moss and Colston are on byes Demar. Thomas the very raw rookie out of Denver is the only replacement currently on the roster. Tray is in some trouble and needs to find a legit WR3 or flex play cause it looks like VJAX will be of little use this season maybe even when he gets back I can't see them using him that much. With this news the Rayz are still a strong team but the Kings may have by passed them for 2nd place. A weak flex spot when facing the top tier teams could be a huge problem for the Rayz especially in the Beast East.

Princesses - The owner of Malcom Floyd who has instantly become a strong WR2 and while the Princesses are still far down the list of teams they have just received a gift. Their widereceiver core of Sidney Rice and Malcom Floyd isn't too bad if she could somehow secure a stronger HB2 this team could really fight for a playoff spot...too bad they have nothing to trade for one and runningbacks are scarce so still cellar dweller just better.

Weiner Dogz Offering 2011 1st for runningback

Defending Champion Weiner Dogz is offering her 1st round pick for a runningback. She has no specifications of what runningback but she wants to see what offers she can get. So if you have a runningback to spare and want to get a 1st rounder for next year let her know or me know and ill tell her.

They call me "The Freak"

The Rayz continue to bolster their line up making a golden trade. They have acquired Randy Moss and a 2nd rounder for Mendenhall and a 3rd rounder in a trade with the Purple Cobras. Taylor Ray has put his team in a great position for 2010 to compete with the Unbeaten Gators in the East. The draft isn't until tomorrow but it looks like this years juggernauts have already been decided the Rayz and U.Gators should be two dominant teams this year. As for the Purple Cobras I do like this trade from their side too. It's no secret they are in rebuilding mode and getting a young stud like Mendenhall in place of an old super stud was the right move. In my opinion Jonny should see how the first few weeks go this season and if he's not competing he should look heavily for 2011 but either way Mendenhall is a great addition. The 2010 season is here lets go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frank the tank goes to the Rayz

This trade does not go through until keepers are announced. The Rayz in a move that seems to be about keeping pace with the U.Gators in the East have acquired Frank Gore (the Rayz VS U.Gators rivalry just got bigger) The 27 year old stud runningback will look very nice next to Ray Rice giving the Rayz two high end HB1's to start week in and week out. Gore cost the Rayz a pretty penny though as they dealt the Copperheads their 1st (11th overall) and 2nd (20th overall) in 2010 and their 1st and 2nd rounders in 2011. I like this move for the Rayz and think it definitely helps them stay in the argument for the top team in the GFFL but I love this move from the Copperheads' side they needed picks badly and grabbing the two picks in 2011 has them with depending on how they draft in position to still be competitive in 2010 but have a great shot at a possible title in 2011 very savy move by the 2nd year franchise.

GFFL DRAFT 2010

June 5th, 2010 the 6th GFFL draft will take place.

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

SJAX on the move again...C.Falcons contenders in the West?

Steven Jackson has been traded to the Carolina Falcons for their 1st round pick (1st overall). Brandon will now be going into the draft with a top QB Tony Romo and two top 10 half backs Michael Turner and Steven Jackson. If the Carolina Falcons can grab two pretty good receivers in the 2nd and 3rd round they may be a serious playoff contender. I'd say they may be the front runners for the West Division.

As for my team I'll go ahead and tell you who I'll have after the first round HB Adrian Peterson, HB Jamaal Charles, HB Beanie Wells, HB Lesean McCoy, WR Andre Johnson, WR Calvin Johnson, WR Brandon Marshall.

This trade is a huge win for both teams the C.Falcons went from cellar dweller to very possible division champion and the U.Gators got even stronger.

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Steven Jackson a U.Gator; Philip Rivers a W.Dog

The Unbeaten Gators have dealt their stud quarterback and a 1st round pick (10th overall) to the Weiner Dogz for Steven Jackson and a 2nd round pick (13th overall)

The Weiner Dogz will go into the draft with Rivers, Stewart, and Austin and 2 first round picks putting them in great position to make another title run if they draft well.

The Unbeaten Gators will go into the draft with Adrian Peterson, Steven Jackson, Andre Johnson, Jamaal Charles, and Beanie Wells with just one first round pick and a 2nd round pick now.

The Kings have agreed upon picking our keepers to send Charles to me for a 1st round(5th overall) and a 4th round(42nd overall)

The Kings also agreed to send Beanie Wells to me after keepers are selected for a 1st round(7th overall) and a 2nd rounder(14th overall).

So the Kings have good draft picks but will only have MJD going into the draft

Schedule making to take place tonight

Taylor Ray, Dylan, and myself will be going hard at work to make a workable schedule for the 2010 season tonight. Just a hint at what I'll be pushing for on week 1 either a Rayz Weiner Dogz rematch or a U.Gators Weiner Dogz rematch U.Gators VS Rayz or U.Gators VS Kings

Michael Vogler to take over embattled Princess franchise?

The Princesses franchise began in 2008 with then owner Rebekah Mattox leading the team to a 4-10 record good for last place in the AFL division in their innaugural season, for various reasons we decided to go in a new direction of ownership with Josh Phillips who started off the 2009 season winning his first game but then proceeded to lose his next 8 games before he quit allowing Rebekah Mattox to take over for the last 5 games going 2-3. Overall this franchise is 7-21 with no playoff berths and has never finished higher than last in their division. Insert Michael Vogler an owner with a high football IQ and a Cowboy fanatic. He will be taking over and trying to turn a franchise around that only has one pick in the first four rounds (2nd round (21st overall). Best of luck to you Vogler you could use a Hershell Walker type deal to get your franchise rolling.

Santonio Holmes to the Jets

Potential Mountaineer keeper Santonio Holmes takes a major hit in value by going to the Jets and add in the 4 game suspension there is no way the Mountaineers can keep him...that leaves the Mountaineers keeping Frank Gore maybe the Dolphin's back up runningback Ricky Williams and possibly Donovan McNabb who saw his value take a big dip with his trade to the Redskins they really need to consider possibly trading for another keeper option before June's draft the only problem is they don't have a lot of ammo and there's not too many sellers. On the bright side they do play in the weak west.

Weiner Dogz Quarterback and potential keeper a rapist

I'm extremely biased cause this guy torched me in the playoffs and is the only reason the Weiner Dogz beat me by 4 points with his unreal 500 yard passing day against Greenbay watta fluke and DeAngelo going down but anyway...I don't think anyone is going to have to worry that much about Roeth this year the sportscasters in pittsburgh have turned on him, this is the 2nd time hes been accused in a short span, he refused to give a DNA sample and he hired the same lawyer who defended Ray Lewis in his murder trial. I think this could be the last of Big Ben QB of the Steelers as they seem almost ready to release him as well as Goodell will more than likely put a suspension on him regardless of the verdict and there's the whole jail scenario. This lowers the value of the whole Pittsburgh offense Mendenhall facing 8 man boxes, Holmes, Ward, and Wallace for obvious reasons.

Friday, March 5, 2010

Ray Rice to the Rayz

The Unbeaten Gators have traded Ray Rice to the Rayz. I will be receiving Phillip Rivers 2nd round pick(14th overall) his earliest 3rd rounder and a 4th rounder in 2011. More news to follow later on

Thomas Jones release hurts Purple Cobras

Back in November the Purple Cobras made a move for the 32 year old halfback Thomas Jones who was on his way to a top 5 fantasy season. They traded both their 1st rounder and 3rd rounder to the Kings. It was a lot to give up for the back and now the trade is an absolute horrid deal with Thomas Jones being released his value has reached an all time low, no matter where he signs he is at best a flex player low HB2. Definitely not keeper material the Purple Cobras have now been thrown a curve ball having just two legitimate keepers in Schaub and Randy Moss and their choice between an unemployed halfback or the very unknown Mike Sims-Walker.

Some players out on the market are Anquan Boldin, Lesean McCoy, Reggie Bush, and even Ray Rice if the Purple Cobras wanted to pull off a blockbuster deal.

The Purple Cobras will be looking to move out of the Central Division basement and into a playoff spot in 2010.

Instant Classics Heels and Princesses take offseason hits

Instant Classics - Vincent Jackson has pleaded guilty to a DUI and speculation is he will be suspended for the first two games of 2010.

Heels - Tomlinson was released by San Diego where he still had touchdown value but now his value is very much in the air even if he lands in an ideal situation (ex. Washington) he's nothing more than a flex play, but he is one of the Heels' main keeper options unless he wants to make a deal.

Princesses - Knowshown Moreno is being investigated for a possible bar fight which could also see him suspended.

With Westbrook's official release McCoy's value has skyrocketed and would make an ideal keeper option.

2010 a new rivalry to take shape

That rivalry is the Unbeaten Gators and the Rayz both from the East division, the storied franchise the Unbeaten Gators (51-19-2) .729 win percentage with 2 titles and 3 championship appearances in 5 years while the upstart Rayz (15-8) .652 went to the title game and posted an 11-3 record in their first full year in the league beating the U.Gator's twice in one and a half seasons. At the start of 2009 I was calling the Rayz a fluke but now I will say the Rayz are real and I believe this will be a heck of a rivalry for years to come hopefully with U.Gator dominance though.

The U.Gators have an unbelievable foundation A.Peterson, R.Rice, and Andre3000.

The Rayz also have a good foundation Rivers, Benson, Colston or some sort of combination of his players.

You could see some very heated regular season, playoff games, and perhaps even a U.Gators - Rayz GFFL Bowl sometime in the future.

Other league rivalries

U.Gators - Kings... A tale of two franchises in this rivalry the two brothers have had very different fantasy careers so far which is what lowers the value of this rivalry but the games intensity between us is still hard to match. If the Kings turn it around and the U.Gators keep rolling these matchups could be pay per view.

I.Classics - Heels...With that Brady trade will he won't he there's some bad blood combine that with Essick's trademark early year trashtalking to Christian and the fact they both play in the Central Division if the Heels can put together a competitive team sparks could fly.

W.Dogz - Ducks...Both have found success and been to title games getting through the other to get to the bowl each time. The W.Dogz got the title though that has eluded the powerful Ducks squads of the past two seasons.

Ducks - Panthers... The Ducks have had the success it seems the Panthers deserved both have lost a title game and are still plenty hungry.

Purple Cobras - Princesses...This is kind of reaching but I'm sure the Purple Cobras don't want to see the franchise that used to be their brothers find success under new ownership. As well as lets be honest both of these teams stunk in '09.

Mountaineers - C.Falcons...It seemed as though the Carolina Falcons' luck went to the Mountaineers last year and with these two teams duking it out in the West they both know they can't afford to drop games against each other cause wins are hard enough to come by.

Kurt Warner Retires

Possible Hall of Famer Kurt Warner has announced his retirement. The superstar QB who came out of nowhere as well as the man who cost me a ride to GFFL BOWL IV when I came up 17 points short of beating the C.Falcons in the divisional round due to Warner (1pt) and Andre (1pt). His retirement hurts the Ducks (Fitzgerald) possibly immensely as I believe Whisenhunt goes to a more conservative attack and Leinart won't be able to get the ball to Fitz like Warner could. Fitz is still a top 10 receiver but I think Andre3000 is now leaps and bounds ahead of him.

Kurt Warner was a great fantasy QB1 during most of his career(excluding late st. louis, and NYG) and he will certainly be missed in the GFFL and NFL.

Matt Leinart becomes an intriguing prospect with the weaponery around him but I say he's a QB2.

Keeper Updates (Warner, Favre possible retirements, T.Jones to get released?)

Here's just a recap of what's going on in the league right now and how it help or hurts keepers.

- Warner, Panthers more than likely to retire, doesn't hurt the Panthers not a keeper consideration but it does hurt Fitzgerald's value immensely. Not so much Boldin cause I'm 99% sure he won't be there.

- Favre, Heels if Favre comes back he will definitely be kept by the Heels because they don't really have too many other options, in my opinion he should really consider trading picks for keepers. Sidney Rice's value will suffer a hit for the Princesses. Peterson's value may go up based on a Favre retirement.

- Thomas Jones, Purple Cobras, the man they dealt their 1st and 3rd round picks for may not be back with the Jets this year and has lost his starting job to Shonn Greene. The Purple Cobras will have to wait and see where he goes but the P.Cobras do have an alternative in MSW.

- Tomlinson, Heels will not be back with the Bolts the only place in the league I could see him having value at again is Houston.

- Owens, Instant Classics not a keeper consideration but for our redraft he may shoot up if he lands with a more favorable team than Buffalo.

- Steven Jackson, Weiner Dogz may be charged with assualt and then could be suspended by the league knocking him out of keeper contention for the Dogz it'd be interesting to see where an SJAX missing say 4 or so games would go in our redraft.

- McCoy, U.Gators as touched on earlier his value has skyrocketed due to Westbrook retirement talks.

- Ray Rice, U.Gators McGahee probably gone from Baltimore just continues to up Rice's stock.

- Wes Welker, W.Dogz not a keeper consideration any more and his 2010 season is very much in jeopardy as with SjAX itd be interesting to see where half a season of Welker would go in our draft my guess not high.

- Brandon Marshall, Ducks very good chance he's gone would a new spot put his value considerably over Calvin Johnson.

- Mike Vick, Kings not a keeper at all but a definitely will be on a new team and may have QB2 value in 2010.

- CJ Spiller, FA if Spiller somehow lands with San Diego in April's draft his value would go to possible top 3 pick in our redraft.

GFFL Schedule Change

Next year the playoffs will move to week 14,15,and 16 due to the increase of players sitting out week 17 I feel this is a needed move.

If anybody has any suggestions let me know for the 2010 season this is the time to start throwing ideas around and get stuff voted on and implemented.

With me being in college next year and hopefully having more free time the GFFLTV may start with weekly wrap up shows and possibly a live webcast on trade deadline day.

Any ideas text me

Princesses make a great move

The Princesses made a huge move in trying to make sure the 2010 season is nothing like the franchise's 2008 and 2009 seasons. Acquiring Sidney Rice for only a 4th round pick was an absolute steal. While the Purple Cobras weren't gonna keep him anyway I'm sure they could've gotten at least a 2nd for him but it isn't a bad trade considering they moved an asset they couldn't keep regardless.

The Princesses are in a lot better shape now going into the draft with Brees, Moreno, and Sidney Rice instead of Ronnie Brown(29 years old coming off Lisfranc). They're gonna have to make the most out of their 2nd round draft pick though but I think they are setting themselves up for a good shot at making a run at the franchise's first playoff appearance. Heck if the Princesses get it turned around, the Panthers put it all together, the Rayz keep it going and the U.Gators make their 6th consecutive playoff appearance then the East could get all 3 wildcards. Not saying its gonna happen but the East does look a heck of a lot stronger than any other division right now.

Lesean McCoy sees value spike? Westbrook 2.0?

With Westbrook considering retirement and he will certainly not be back with the Eagles, McCoy's value has skyrocketed and he is in the position to follow in Westbrook's footsteps and have the same type of career. Lesean McCoy in that offense could possibly be a top 10 back maybe even sneak into the top 5. McCoy's situation reminds me a lot of Ray Rice and for those of you short on keepers or even just wanting a better keeper it would be smart for you to try to deal for McCoy. I'm more than willing to listen to offers cause my 3 keepers are set.

Some teams that I think should be interested in acquiring McCoy

Heels - LT is done, Kevin Smith is coming off an ACL tear(early rumors have the Lions drafting another runningback) he could definitely use a franchise back in Lesean McCoy.

Princesses - Brees and Moreno are a great start but with Ronnie Brown going to be 29 and coming off Lisfranc injury it would definitely be a smart move to acquire a young back to pair with Moreno.

Carolina Falcons - Desperately need a 3rd keeper, it would help a lot to acquire McCoy and avoid having to keep 2 qb's.

Mountaineers - a possible landing spot?
