Kings Are Going Back To The GFFL BOWL!

In what was a game for the ages, the defending champion Kings punched their ticket to GFFL BOWL VII! Roddy White was three yards away from advancing the Rayz but was pulled for the final 5 play stretch of the game to the delight of Dylan Gibson. The Kings join the C.Falcons and U.Gators as one of the only three teams to ever make back to back GFFL Bowls (they both won the title). The Kings have overcome injuries to star players (McFadden,FJAX,Andre) and having to go through the wildcard round to get here and now face their arch rival Classics in one of the most hyped GFFL Bowls of all time. Regardless the outcome of the Bowl, the Kings have come a long way from being the team that couldn't make the playoffs, and with a GFFL Bowl victory they would be tied for the most titles of all time. What a night for this franchise! Can they repeat? We'll find out. Congratulations Kings on making it to back to back GFFL BOWLS!

Classics Punch Ticket To GFFL BOWL VII

CONGRATULATIONS to Christian Martin and the Classics. GFFL Bowl Bound in their fourth season, the Classics entered the league in 2008 and have been one of the best and most active owners in the entire GFFL. They had made the playoffs in previous seasons but never had been able to make it all the way. Well 2011 is a different story the Classics are going to GFFL BOWL VII after overcoming the early season Foster injuries and CJ2k's crap season Christian has formed a power house of a team and led them to the promised land. The Classics have a very good shot at capping this season off with a title. Once again congratulations to a great owner and a great friend after defeating the 6. Ducks and the 2. C.Falcons THE CLASSICS ARE HEADED TO GFFL BOWL VII!!!

DIVISIONAL ROUND PREVIEW

Half of Rodgers?

4. Kings (10-4) AT 1. Rayz (12-2)

QB E.Manning QB Rodgers
HB CJ Spiller HB McCoy
HB C.Johnson HB R.Rice
HB/WR Bell HB/WR Mathews
WR Welker WR Wallace
WR AJ Green WR R.White
TE Gates TE V.Davis

This is gonna be a good one. If the Kings were fully healthy with McFadden, FJAX, and Andre they may be favored in this one, but with the team being held together by the Khalil Bell form of scotch tape they don't have the same bite. What is going right for them is that they still have a pair of explosive runningbacks that can hang with the Rayz' star duo any given Sunday. Also in the Kings' favor is the Aaron Rodgers conundrum. If Rodgers gets in there and only plays for a quarter, Eli Manning could outscore him. The Kings have the advantage at tight end. In the Rayz favor is everything else, they have a stacked team and Wallace has a great match up against the Rams. While I think the Kings if Spiller and the old CJ2k show up have a chance the Rayz have to be favored and should be able to walk away with this one. (EDITOR'S NOTE After watching Roethlisberger last night I think Pitt will focus on the run against St. Louis which makes Wallace a little less attractive. I still take the Rayz but the Kings have some hope) Rayz 109-97

3. Classics (9-5) AT 2. C.Falcons (10-4)

QB Brady QB Roethlisberger
HB Foster HB Lynch
HB Jones-Drew HB Turner
HB/WR S.Jackson HB/WR J.Jones
WR Fitzgerald WR Nelson
WR Harvin WR Marshall
TE Hernandez TE Witten

The Classics took care of business against the Ducks and looked like a champion doing it. They now face an easier challenge going up against the C.Falcons whose star player (Lynch) is going up against the best run d in the league while outside of SJAX the Classics have sick match ups. This game has the chance to turn into a laugher, I'll take the Classics 111-75

WILDCARD ROUND PREVIEW

Can Cam Newton lead the Ducks to a shocking upset?

6. Ducks (6-7-1) AT 3. Classics (9-5)

QB Newton QB Brady
HB Peterson HB Foster
HB McGahee HB Jones-Drew
HB/WR M.Barber HB/WR S.Jackson
WR Cruz WR Fitzgerald
WR D.Thomas WR Harvin
TE Gronkowski TE Hernandez

I honestly think this is going to be a very close game as long as Peterson is back, and he should be. Peterson back means less production for Harvin and SJAX is going against a tough Cincy D that just got done holding Foster to 5 fantasy points. MJD is going against an Atlanta team that will be ahead early and should limit his scoring potential while Newton can easily score with Brady or even more than Brady. It's a very scary match up for the Classics who probably wish the Pirates were down at the 6 seed or really anybody but these Ducks. This is the most talented 6 seed there's ever been with four gamebreaker players (Newton,Peterson,Cruz, and Gronk). The Classics do have Foster against Carolina though so I'll take the Classics in a tight one something like 102-100

5. Pirates (9-5) AT 4. Kings (10-4)

QB Romo QB E.Manning
HB Greene HB C.Johnson
HB Tomlinson HB Spiller
HB/WR Meachem HB/WR Jacobs
WR D.Bryant WR Welker
WR Maclin WR AJ Green
TE Gonzalez TE Gates

If the Kings were healthy this game would scream blow out, and even though they aren't it probably still will be. It's a lucky match up for both teams as the Kings get to go against a squad that talent wise shouldn't even be here (especially without Murray) and the Pirates get to go against a Kings team decimated by injuries (FJAX,McFadden,A.Johnson). If the Kings were healthy they'd honestly be my pick to win it all easily but without those players they are a pretty good but far from great team. It's not out of the realm of possibility for the Kings to be beaten if CJ puts up a stinker like he's prone to do and the Ravens hold Gates in check then the teams match up a lot closer but I think I'll trust Chris Johnson against a crappy Indy team the second time around. I'll take Kings in a closer than expected but still a significant win something like 93-75

GFFL PLAYOFF FACTS

-No team has ever won without coming into the championship game with a top 10 back.

- The lowest seed to win the title is the 4 seeded 2009 Weiner Dogz.

- 137 points is the highest score of a championship game ever. It was posted by the 2006 U.Gators against the Rockets.

- 2 seeds are 3-1 in GFFL BOWLS the only lost coming from the Kings franchise

- 2 seeds have made 4/6 GFFL Bowls

- 1 seeds have made 4/6 GFFL Bowls

- 5 seeds have made 1/4 GFFL Bowls

- 4 seeds have made 2/6 GFFL BOWLS

- 3 seeds have made 1/6 GFFL BOWLS

- A 6 seed has never made a GFFL Bowl 0/2

- The lowest seed to ever make the GFFL Bowl is the 2010 5 seed C.Falcons

- The last team to win the GFFL Bowl with double digit regular season wins was the 2005 U.Gators

- Number one seeds are 1-3 all time in the GFFL Bowl with the 2005 U.Gators being the only winner and both the '07 U.Gators '08 Ducks and '09 Rayz losing in the title game.

- Least amount of wins a GFFL Champion has ever had was 8, 2006 U.Gators.

Stats seem to favor the Classics if they can make the GFFL BOWL.

Sad Day For Gator Nation

Well it's the offseason a lot earlier than normal for the Gators. A storied franchise featuring two GFFL Titles, three GFFL Championship appearances, and 6 consecutive playoff appearances now will be remembered for something completely different, the biggest collapse in GFFL history.

Rewind to the start of the season the Gators coming off a 12-2 season with a roster even better than the previous season were dreaming of chasing perfection.

QB Rodgers
HB Peterson
HB Charles
HB/WR Mendenhall
WR C.Johnson
WR A.Johnson
TE Graham

A star studded roster that kicked off the season with a 127 point showing faced the Rayz in week 2 losing 116-115 because Jamaal Charles tore his ACL early in the 1st quarter. The first blow to a dream season, but not the dagger as the Gators went on to not score less than 115 in any of their first 5 games. When they ran into the Classics and they underperformed losing 77-71, that's when the Gators pulled the trigger and decided to blow the team up. They won two easy games to pull to 6-2 it looked like the Gators would easily get back into the playoffs for a 7th consecutive season..that's when the collapse started.

VS C.Falcons L
VS Panthers L
VS Rayz L
Then right before trade deadline they traded the severely underperfoming Shonn Greene for a 2014 2nd to the Pirates.
VS Kings L
VS Pirates L
VS Pirates L

Shonn Greene scored 75 points in 12 weeks an average of 6.25 points per game then in 2 weeks against the Gators scores 51 points. In week 14 Dez Bryant catches only 1 pass..but it's for a 50 yard touchdown late in the 4th.

It was just not meant to be for the Gators this year as a dream season went up in smoke. This once proud franchise must now start on a rebuilding process and look even farther away frome ending their GFFL BOWL drought.

C.Falcons Suffer Major Blow

The C.Falcons have ridden their strong runningbacks to a 9-4 record but now Matt Forte is done for at least week 14 and the wildcard round but most likely the rest of the fantasy season. This is obviously a huge blow to a team with championship aspirations. Here's what the C.Falcons' roster looks like without Forte..

QB Roethlisberger
HB Turner
HB Lynch
HB/WR J.Jones
WR Nelson
WR Marshall
TE Witten

While this isn't a bad team it's a lot of hit and miss and the argument could be made it will be the weakest line up in the playoff pool other than the Pirates of course.

It's going to be hard for the C.Falcons to make a title run with this team especially if they have to go through the wildcard round first.
