Week 3 Preview and Power Rankings

Hey guys, how's it been going? I know I've been slacking with articles for a bit and you can blame UNCW, blame my new start up company (American Satellite Concept), or just blame me but finally here's an article. It's going to be fairly short expect a much more in depth 1/4 of the way through the season article after week 4.

3 Thoughts Entering Week 3

1. Rayz (0-2), Dream Killers (0-2), and Carolina Falcons (0-2) welcome to your must win week. An 0-3 start would all but doom your post season chances.

2. The Copperheads (2-0), Kings (2-0), and Panthers (2-0) are all undefeated but one of these teams isn't like the others. The Copperheads and Kings seem like true heavy weight contenders while the Panthers seem more like just a fringe playoff team.

3. The Gators seem to be the best 1-1 team on paper by a good bit.

Week 3 Picks

Gators (1-1) AT Dream Killers (0-2) (+11)

The Dream Killers are a stacked team and have no business being 0-3, but unfortunately with most likely no Reggie Bush and playing another one of the GFFL's stacked teams they most likely will be. Give me the Gators 110-99.

Pirates (1-1) AT Nutrients (1-1) (+4)

The defending champ is off to a decent start going 1-1 over the first two games and now line up to face a much improved Nutrient team. This game is a true coin flip but give me Brees, Dez, and the Pirates 96-92.

Kings (2-0) AT Copperheads (2-0) (-3)

Wow what a start by Mr. Dickinson in the game of the week. This game could go a long way in determining not only the West Division but the #1 seed in the playoffs. I think the Kings have enough fire power to catch up but unfortunately their decision to start Alex Smith will doom them to a 3 point loss 117-114 Copperheads.

Classics (1-1) AT Rayz (0-2) (+10)

In what most years would be considered the marquee match up of the week is now just a very intriguing game with neither team really seeming like a strong title threat. Taylor Ray has to get a win this week there's no way around it, unfortunately for him David Wilson and Montee Ball have bombed while Ray Rice is doubtful for Sunday's tilt. Bowe's already posted a 0 for the Rayz which makes it easier to pick the Classics who will somehow be a quiet 2-1, 87-77.

Hurricanes (1-1) AT Ducks (1-1) (-7)

This is a pretty big time game, the Ducks are the a real contender in the Central, and the Hurricanes when SJAX is healthy may be the 2nd favorite for a wildcard. Well, SJAX is not healthy and has forced Arnold to start Ogabannnnnnnnnnnnya which will most likely lead to a 95-88 loss to the Ducks.

Panthers (2-0) AT C.Falcons (0-2) (+25)

People say the Panthers team isn't elite and they've just got off to a hot start, but say what you want they should ease by the Falcons to get to 3-0. Give me the Panthers 100-75.

WEEK 3 POWER RANKINGS

1A. Kings (2-0) - This is just an unreal stacked team besides QB. If Spiller or CJ1K ever get going watch out.

1B. Copperheads (2-0) - McCoy, Charles, Foster...WOW. Could use a receiver upgrade but with those backs can beat anyone any week, any time, and place.

3. Gators (1-1) - TRICH, Megatron, Jimmy and nice depth at runningback has the Gators as a prime contender behind the super teams.

4. Panthers (2-0) - A fast start and solid but not spectacular at any positions (other than Peyton) could find the Panthers in the 2013 playoffs.

5. Ducks (1-1) - Blew a gimme game to the Classics last week but still arguably the most talented team in the Central.

6. Pirates (1-1) - Defending champs have some holes in the line up but when you have Brees and Dez you can compete any week.

7. Hurricanes (1-1) - Arnold has done a sick job owning this year and rolling with his favorite duo Vick and DJAX has him looking like a potential playoff team again if SJAX can get back soon.

8. Dream Killers (0-2) - If these rankings were strictly based on the talent on the roster the Dream Killers would be top 4 and even if they fall to 0-3 they could still easily win the Central, keep an eye on this team.

9. Nutrients (1-1) - I'm rooting hard for Jonny to break through to make the playoffs and this would be the year to do it. The Central is wide open, the wild card race is wide open, and he has the best team he's ever had so we'll see.

10. Rayz (0-2) - Once were mentioned as a premium GFFL Bowl Contender, now look beyond weak at HB2, WR2, and Flex with Ray Rice not even looking like that much of a HB1. Also Tray is starting the Raiders' D against the Broncos so he may very well be a glutton for punishment.

11. Classics (1-1) - Has a good chance to start 2-1, great ownership is the only reason this team can't be counted out to have a chance at the playoffs.

12. C.Falcons (0-2) - It's rebuilding time Brandon and Haas, sorry but it is.
