Round 1
1. Carolina Falcons 4-9-1 - HB Steven Jackson...If his legal problems leads to a suspension and he is dropped down here into the redraft he has to be heavily considered for the top pick. Pairing Turner and SJAX gets Brandon closer to getting back to respectability.
2. Unbeaten Gators 8-5-1 - WR Calvin Johnson...Calvin and Marshall are easily the top two receivers in the draft. With Martz seeming destined for Chicago Forte's value spikes in a Marshall Faulk esque way but I still have to go Calvin right now until I know where Marshall lands.
3. Panthers 6-8 - HB Matt Forte...With a strong nucleus at QB and WR getting a strong runningback would go a long way for this team and Matt Forte was a beast in '08 and was serviceable in '09 he is still young and while he doesn't have the most exciting skill set he still has potential to get big numbers in year 2 with Cutler especially if Martz gets the job as offensive coordinator Forte could be used in a Faulk role only problem with that is he could jump into the top 2 picks.
4. Kings 5-8-1 - WR Brandon Marshall..He'll most likely be dominant wherever he goes and there's no way he falls out of the top 5 picks. Marshall is a Monster.
5. U.Gators 8-5-1 - HB Shonn Greene...These top 5 picks are absolutely loaded with talent, Greene was huge in the playoffs and may very well have forced Thomas Jones out of New York Greene is a stud, also tempted to take McCoy or Mendenhall heck if Spiller goes to San Diego.....
6. Heels 7-7 - HB CJ Spiller...A bit of reach maybe? but with the Heels franchise keepers not looking so hot hitting on a stud would turn things around in a hurry and there is no rookie in this years draft with more stud potential than CJ Spiller but is he the next Chris Johnson or the next Reggie Bush or somewhere in between. No one knows but the Heels need a ballsy pick if they want to win now and this my friends would be a ballsy pick.
7. U.Gators 8-5-1 - HB Lesean McCoy...I'd be happy getting Mendenhall, McCoy, or another receiver here but at this time I'd take McCoy as another flex play option and for the fact runningbacks are scarce and extremely valuable. With Westy's retirement I'm extremely excited to see what McCoy can do as the next Westbrook. In '07 Westy had 2,000 all purpose yards and 12 td's skys the limit for McCoy.
8. Ducks 10-4 - WR Steve Smith (Car)...Very attached to Carolina players and Steve Smith looks very primed for a bounce back season.
9. Instant Classics 8-5-1 - HB Rashard Mendenhall...An extremely tough decision with Roddy White and Ochocinco on the board. Mendy is the pick for now though.
10. Unbeaten Gators 8-5-1 - WR Roddy White...Do you take a stud tight end here after having so many picks or do you continue to add stud receivers and Halfbacks? I think you continue to add Receivers and Backs and at this point I think Roddy White is a pretty good pick here in year 3 with Ryan.
11. Rayz 11-3 - WR MSW...not a bad pick. Sims-Walker had some great games but disappeared down the stretch but he does have potential for a break out 2010.
12. Weiner Dogz 9-5 - WR Chad Ochocinco...the defending champion Weiner Dogz likes big names and to make big splashes and Ochocinco is a huge name to pair with Miles Austin and a nice start to a title defense.
That's my current first round mock draft based on what I think would happen not necessarily who I think are the best options so take that for what it's worth enjoy the playoffs today guys.
