Before diving into week 1 it's of note that a couple of games could still be realistically decided tonight, now this isn't a place where I'm gonna say if Sproles rushes for 400 yards Ochocinco can beat the Ducks this is for realistic games where the outcome is still very much in the air.
The Unbeaten Gators need the Sandiego Charger Defense (At Oakland) to score 8 more points than Bills runningback Fred Jackson (At New England) to tie and 9 more points to win. So you know I'll be glued to the tv tonight.
The Kings need Randy Moss to total 14 points for a tie with rival Carolina Falcons and 15 for a win. Realistic stat lines that would do it are 80 yards and a score or 90 yards and a score.
So there's a look at tonight's games, now for week 1.
While you can't jump to conclusions just from one week there were plenty of things to look at starting with Jake Delhomme.
- Delhomme has never been much of a fantasy factor until yesterday where he gift wrapped the Eagles D 5 turnovers(6th turnover came from Moore), a couple sacks, two Td's, little points against, and who knows what else totaling to 33 points which is unheard of for a defense. Not only did it affect the Eagles D he also killed the value of Steve Smith and ruined what could've been a stud day from DeAngelo. Thanks to Delhomme the Rayz are currently holding an 8 point lead over the U.Gators to put this in perspective if you replace the Eagles 33 with a good defensive score of 13 the U. Gators would be up by 12. (Jay Cutler thanks Delhomme for taking the spot light off his 4 picks)
- Peterson had an incredible outing rushing for 180 yards and 3 td's and will surely be the anchor of the U.Gators team for years to come. The Kings have to be kicking themselves for dealing away this guy.
- Brees torches the Lions for 36 fantasy points and pulls out a win for the Average Joes a team some were speculating may not be able to win a game all year, well in week 1 they've already for one.
- Thomas Jones looks to have another elite season left which has to make Panthers owner Mike Gibson very happy.
- Some Stud Runningbacks have very dissapointing openers Turner 6 pts. (C.Falcons), Chris Johnson 6 pts. (Ochocinco), Forte 5 pts. (Kings), Jacobs 5 pts. (Heels), Slaton 2 pts. (Rayz).
- Two Stud receivers have bad days too Andre Johnson 3 pts. (P.Cobras), Steve Smith 2 pts. (U.Gators)
- Mike Bell may have done enough to remain the starting runningback in New Orleans, at the very least he's really hurt Pierre Thomas' breakout potential.
- McNabb and A.Gonzalez are the two most significant injuries of the week. The Mountaineers will now turn to Eli Manning at QB for at least a few weeks. While A Gonz may get cut by the Kings.
Team By Team one liners to come Tuesday
