Today I turn to the east could Dallas christen its new stadium with some playoff success?
NFC EAST
1. Dallas Cowboys 10-6 - A lot of change and while I don't agree with the release of TO if it helps Romo relax and spread the ball around and give Dallas a renewed reliance on the run you could see the Boys back in the playoffs. You have to remember this is basically the same team that went 13-3 but no TO and replacing the ineffective Julius Jones with Felix Jones and Tashard Choice. The Boys aren't back but America's team will be in the playoffs.
2. Philadelphia Eagles 9-7 - Until the Vick signing the Eagles were my favorite for the East, but now I think the fans and the media will create a huge controversy over McNabb and Vick , that combined with no Dawkins and a limited Westbrook leading to a subpar season.
3. New York Giants 9-7 - No number one widereceiver for their average QB in Eli Manning should lead to a stagnant offense to go along with an amazing defense leading to an average season.
4. Washington Redskins 8-8 - Huge (physically at least) addition in the 100 million dollar man Albert Haynesworth but same old Skins. Campbell has not shown strides in preseason and I don't see him and the aging Portis leading this offense or this team to anything but mediocre.
AFC EAST
1. New England Patriots 11-5 - Guess whos back,back,back...back again?(slim shady is football) The Pats and Brady are back just don't expect it to feel too much like '07. The offensive line is putrid and I don't care if Brady is back 100% he may not have the time to pass the deep ball to Moss and with Welker dealing with an injury the offense could have some issues to go along with an aging defense full of issues the Jets could give the Pats a serious run for their money this year.
2. New York Jets 10-6 (WC) - Look for this team to be Baltimore lite, Rex Ryan the former defensive coordinator for the Ravens stole some key Ravens (Bart Scott, Jim Leonarhd, ect.) and has the talent to have a nasty defense to go along with his run heavy offense. With Sanchez a rookie QB leading the way (Flacco'08) the Jets will get in the playoffs and should push the Pats, if you're a Jets fan you have to love the direction the franchise is going in following in Baltimore's footsteps.
3. Buffalo Bills 7-9 - TO put them in the news but there's no shot he puts them in the playoffs Trent Edwards is not Romo,McNabb, or even Garcia. It should be a more fun year for Buffalo fans than they're use to but it won't translate into too many wins.
4. Miami Dolphins 6-10 - Chad will be the starting QB at some point...Henne that is. Pennington's days as Miami's QB are numbered and with a bad start should let go of the top spot to Henne. Miami is just not that talented of a team and it's a wonder they made it into the playoffs last year. Don't look for the success to continue in '09.
