Kings further deplete their 2010 odds

3 Biggest Stories of the Week

So let's start with the Kings, in my opinion they badly screwed up on their last trade with myself, they got a great back in Gore but he won't be able to use him for three weeks (the Kings at 0-2-1 are in no position to wait for three weeks on a player) and after those three weeks pass if Coffee plays well enough which judging by his preseason he will. You may see Singletary go to a Running back by committee due to Gore's past injury proneness and wanting to keep Gore healthy for the playoffs not to mention Coffee can provide some good yardage in his own right. Dylan also received Steve Smith who looks down right putrid and with Delhomme's shaky QB play and the Panther's inability to do anything not to mention Steve looks like he may have lost a step and is in danger of becoming the other Steve Smith.
Now let's look at what he gave up, first off Randy Moss the big chip in this trade who I hope will pay instant dividends for me (he's leading the league in targets and you have to think with Welker back and Brady getting more and more on the same page he could be the number one receiver by years end) and leaves a gaping hole for Dylan at receiver, I received Kevin Smith who I believe may put up comparable stats to Gore when he comes back and I received a 6th round pick which now leaves Dylan with just one pick in the first 6 rounds (a 4th rounder).
I do think the Kings with Brees still have a very good chance of being competitive this year and finding a way to sneak into the playoffs his 2010 becomes even more shot.

Now to another big story in the league the Carolina Falcons who have been incredibly quiet on the trade fronts this year look to be in some serious trouble, barely getting to 1-1-1. Turner looks nothing like he did last year, Boldin is in a now struggling Arizona offense, Roy Williams in a spread the ball around O in Dallas, Westbrooks ailing and the Carolina Falcons season is falling apart. I don't see the two time defending champions coming anywhere near the playoffs and the only thing looking good for them in 2010 is having a very early pick because Turner and Westbrook will be just another year older coming off disappointing seasons My projected keepers for him in 2010 are Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, and Anquan Boldin, giving him a rising stud at QB but not much else, but with a good draft and some sheer moves in 2010 they could get back to contenders but barring some miracle your '07,'08 champs will miss the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.

The Heels and Rayz are the last of our undefeated franchises, now I am very impressed by their 3-0 starts and I think both should be playoff bound I will say this I don't see either coming home with the title though and that's plenty biased (what do you expect) but the Heels lack a legit halfback no GFFL Champion or runner up for that matter has not had an at least top 10 fantasy back
2008 Carolina Falcons - M.Turner, Ducks - D.Williams
2007 Carolina Falcons - Lynch, U.Gators - Peterson
2006 Unbeaten Gators - Tomlinson, Rockets - Parker
2005 Unbeaten Gators - Tomlinson, Dolphins - Larry Johnson

while the Rayz have Benson currently in the top 10 and I believe he could stay there they are very weak at QB and WR and they'll need to part with some of that stash of draft picks if they want to improve there and try to bring home the title in '09 but if they keep the picks they have a very good shot at being a top competitor next year as well.
